『至於彼時彼日、無人知之。天神不知、人子亦不知、惟父知之。

“ But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.

“ But no one knows about that day or hour. Not even the angels in heaven know. The Son does not know. Only the Father knows.

“ But concerning that day or that hour, no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.

耶稣说：“父凭着自己的权柄所定的时间或日期，你们不必知道。

所以你们要警醒，因为不知道那日子和那时间。

“至于那日子和时间，没有人知道，连天上的使者和子也不知道，只有父知道。挪亚的时代怎样，人子降临的时候也是这样。洪水之前的时代，人们吃喝嫁娶，直到挪亚进入方舟的那一天；等到洪水来到，把他们冲去，他们才明白过来；人子降临的时候也是这样。那时，两个人在田里工作，一个被接去，一个撇下来；两个女人在磨坊推磨，一个被接去，一个撇下来。因此，你们要警醒，因为不知道你们的主什么时候要来。

弟兄们，论到时候和日期，不用写什么给你们了。因为你们自己清楚知道，主的日子来到，就像夜间的贼来到一样。

那时，他们要看见人子，满有能力和荣耀，驾着云降临；他要差派天使，把他的选民从四方，从地极直到天边，都招聚来。

半夜，有人喊叫：‘新郎来了，快出来迎接他。’

过了很久，那些仆人的主人回来了，要和他们算帐。

但主的日子必要像贼一样来到。在那日，天必轰然一声地消失，所有元素都因烈火而融化；地和地上所有的，都要被烧毁（“被烧毁”有不少古抄本作“被发现”）。

所以，你应当回想你是怎样领受、怎样听见的；应该遵守，也应该悔改。你若不警醒，我就要像贼来到一样。我什么时候来到你那里，你决不能知道。

耶稣基督的啓示，就是神赐给他，叫他把快要发生的事指示他的众仆人。他就差派天使显示给他的仆人约翰。
