When they had approached Jerusalem and had come to Bethphage, at the Mount of Olives, Jesus then sent two disciples,

And the disciples came up and said to Him,“ Why do You speak to them in parables?”

As He was going along the Sea of Galilee, He saw Simon and Andrew, the brother of Simon, casting a net in the sea; for they were fishermen.And Jesus said to them,“ Follow Me, and I will have you become fishers of people.”Immediately they left their nets and followed Him.And going on a little farther, He saw James the son of Zebedee, and his brother John, who were also in the boat mending the nets.

And He allowed no one to accompany Him except Peter, James, and John the brother of James.

Six days later, Jesus* took with Him Peter and James, and his brother John, and* led them up on a high mountain by themselves.

And as He was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying,“ Tell us, when will these things happen, and what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”

One of the two who heard John speak, and followed Him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother.He first* found his own brother Simon and* said to him,“ We have found the Messiah”( which translated means Christ).

Then He left the crowds and went into the house. And His disciples came to Him and said,“ Explain to us the parable of the weeds of the field.”

And six days later Jesus* took with Him Peter, James, and John, and* brought them up on a high mountain by themselves. And He was transfigured before them;

James and John, the two sons of Zebedee,* came up to Jesus, saying to Him,“ Teacher, we want You to do for us whatever we ask of You.”

And He* took with Him Peter, James, and John, and began to be very distressed and troubled.
