若不是主减少那些日子，凡血肉之躯的，就没有一个能得救；但是为了他所拣选的选民，他将那些日子减少了。

主若不減其時日、則血氣之倫、將無遺孑！惟為選民之故、主必減之耳。

耶和华如此说：“人在葡萄中寻得新酒时会说：‘不要毁坏它，因为它还有用处’；同样，我必因我仆人的缘故，不将他们全然毁灭。我必从雅各中领出后裔，从犹大中领出那要继承我众山的；我的选民要继承它，我的仆人要在那里居住。

若不减少那些日子，凡血肉之躯的，就没有一个能得救；可是为了选民，那些日子将减少。

就福音来说，他们为你们的缘故是仇敌；就拣选来说，他们因列祖的缘故是蒙爱的。因为神的恩赐和选召是不会撤回的。你们从前不顺服神，如今因他们的不顺服，你们倒蒙了怜悯。同样，他们现在也是不顺服，叫他们因着施给你们的怜悯，现在也就蒙怜悯。因为神把众人都圈在不顺服中，为的是要怜悯众人。

这全地的人，三分之二将被剪除而死，三分之一仍必存留。这是耶和华说的。我要使这三分之一经过火，熬炼他们，如熬炼银子；试炼他们，如试炼金子。他们要求告我的名，我必应允他们。我说：“这是我的子民。”他们要说：“耶和华是我的神。”

国内剩下的人若还有十分之一，也必被吞灭。然而如同大树与橡树，虽被砍伐，残干却仍存留，圣洁的苗裔是它的残干。”

而且，他们若不是长久不信，仍要被接上，因为神能够重新把他们接上去。你是从那天生的野橄榄上砍下来的，尚且违反自然地接在好橄榄上，何况这些原来的枝子岂不更要接在原树上吗？

现在这时刻也是这样，照着出于恩典的拣选，还有所留的余数。既是靠恩典，就不凭行为，不然，恩典就不再是恩典了。那又怎么说呢？以色列人所寻求的，他们没有得着。但是蒙拣选的人得着了，其余的人却成了顽梗不化的。

若不是万军之耶和华为我们留下一些幸存者，我们早已变成所多玛，像蛾摩拉一样了。
