But they were unable to cope with his wisdom and the Spirit by whom he was speaking.

Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them,“ Rulers and elders of the people,if we are on trial today for a benefit done to a sick man, as to how this man has been made well,let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead— by this name this man stands here before you in good health.He is the stone which was rejected by you, the builders, but which became the chief cornerstone.And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among mankind by which we must be saved.”Now as they observed the confidence of Peter and John and understood that they were uneducated and untrained men, they were amazed, and began to recognize them as having been with Jesus.And seeing the man who had been healed standing with them, they had nothing to say in reply.But when they had ordered them to leave the Council, they began to confer with one another,saying,“ What are we to do with these men? For the fact that a noteworthy miracle has taken place through them is apparent to all who live in Jerusalem, and we cannot deny it.But so that it will not spread any further among the people, let’s warn them not to speak any longer to any person in this name.”And when they had summoned them, they commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus.But Peter and John answered and said to them,“ Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than to God, make your own judgment;for we cannot stop speaking about what we have seen and heard.”When they had threatened them further, they let them go( finding no basis on which to punish them) on account of the people, because they were all glorifying God for what had happened;for the man on whom this miracle of healing had been performed was more than forty years old.

We also speak these things, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words.

Then I said,“ Oh, Lord God! Behold, I do not know how to speak, Because I am a youth.”But the Lord said to me,“ Do not say,‘ I am a youth,’ Because everywhere I send you, you shall go, And all that I command you, you shall speak.Do not be afraid of them, For I am with you to save you,” declares the Lord.Then the Lord stretched out His hand and touched my mouth, and the Lord said to me,“ Behold, I have put My words in your mouth.

which in other generations was not made known to mankind, as it has now been revealed to His holy apostles and prophets in the Spirit;

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed nego replied to the king,“ Nebuchadnezzar, we are not in need of an answer to give you concerning this matter.If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to rescue us from the furnace of blazing fire; and He will rescue us from your hand, O king.But even if He does not, let it be known to you, O king, that we are not going to serve your gods nor worship the golden statue that you have set up.”

“ The Spirit of the Lord spoke through me, And His word was on my tongue.

Then Moses said to the Lord,“ Please, Lord, I have never been eloquent, neither recently nor in time past, nor since You have spoken to Your servant; for I am slow of speech and slow of tongue.”But the Lord said to him,“ Who has made the human mouth? Or who makes anyone unable to speak or deaf, or able to see or blind? Is it not I, the Lord?Now then go, and I Myself will be with your mouth, and instruct you in what you are to say.”

“ But be on your guard; for they will hand you over to the courts, and you will be flogged in the synagogues, and you will stand before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them.

It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves, but you, in these things which now have been announced to you through those who preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven— things into which angels long to look.

And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with different tongues, as the Spirit was giving them the ability to speak out.

John replied,“ A person can receive not even one thing unless it has been given to him from heaven.

And when they had prayed, the place where they had gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the word of God with boldness.

The Lord God has given Me the tongue of disciples, So that I may know how to sustain the weary one with a word. He awakens Me morning by morning, He awakens My ear to listen as a disciple.

and pray in my behalf, that speech may be given to me in the opening of my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel,for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in proclaiming it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

And all who were sitting in the Council stared at him, and they saw his face, which was like the face of an angel.

But be on guard against people, for they will hand you over to the courts and flog you in their synagogues;

The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified His servant Jesus, the one whom you handed over and disowned in the presence of Pilate, when he had decided to release Him.
