詎園戶議曰：「是為其嗣、曷共殺之、其產歸吾矣。」

“ But the tenants said to one another,‘ This is the heir. Come, let’s kill him, and the inheritance will be ours.’

“ But the renters said to each other,‘ This is the one who will receive all the owner’s property someday. Come, let’s kill him. Then everything will be ours.’

They tried to seize him, but they feared the multitude; for they perceived that he spoke the parable against them. They left him, and went away.

Many bulls have surrounded me. Strong bulls of Bashan have encircled me.They open their mouths wide against me, lions tearing prey and roaring.I am poured out like water. All my bones are out of joint. My heart is like wax. It is melted within me.My strength is dried up like a potsherd. My tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth. You have brought me into the dust of death.

Yahweh, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One, says to him whom man despises, to him whom the nation abhors, to a servant of rulers:“ Kings shall see and rise up, princes, and they shall worship, because of Yahweh who is faithful, even the Holy One of Israel, who has chosen you.”

I will put hostility between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring. He will bruise your head, and you will bruise his heel.”

He was oppressed, yet when he was afflicted he didn’t open his mouth. As a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and as a sheep that before its shearers is silent, so he didn’t open his mouth.He was taken away by oppression and judgment. As for his generation, who considered that he was cut off out of the land of the living and stricken for the disobedience of my people?

him, being delivered up by the determined counsel and foreknowledge of God, you have taken by the hand of lawless men, crucified and killed;

Which of the prophets didn’t your fathers persecute? They killed those who foretold the coming of the Righteous One, of whom you have now become betrayers and murderers.

The chief priests therefore and the Pharisees gathered a council, and said,“ What are we doing? For this man does many signs.If we leave him alone like this, everyone will believe in him, and the Romans will come and take away both our place and our nation.”But a certain one of them, Caiaphas, being high priest that year, said to them,“ You know nothing at all,nor do you consider that it is advantageous for us that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation not perish.”

Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked by the wise men, was exceedingly angry, and sent out, and killed all the male children who were in Bethlehem and in all the surrounding countryside, from two years old and under, according to the exact time which he had learned from the wise men.

When King Herod heard it, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.Gathering together all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he asked them where the Christ would be born.They said to him,“ In Bethlehem of Judea, for this is written through the prophet,‘ You Bethlehem, land of Judah, are in no way least among the princes of Judah: for out of you shall come a governor, who shall shepherd my people, Israel.’”Then Herod secretly called the wise men, and learned from them exactly what time the star appeared.He sent them to Bethlehem, and said,“ Go and search diligently for the young child. When you have found him, bring me word, so that I also may come and worship him.”They, having heard the king, went their way; and behold, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, until it came and stood over where the young child was.When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy.They came into the house and saw the young child with Mary, his mother, and they fell down and worshiped him. Opening their treasures, they offered to him gifts: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.Being warned in a dream not to return to Herod, they went back to their own country another way.Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying,“ Arise and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and stay there until I tell you, for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.”

For those who dwell in Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they didn’t know him, nor the voices of the prophets which are read every Sabbath, fulfilled them by condemning him.Though they found no cause for death, they still asked Pilate to have him killed.

Come now therefore, and let’s kill him, and cast him into one of the pits, and we will say,‘ An evil animal has devoured him.’ We will see what will become of his dreams.”

The kings of the earth take a stand, and the rulers take counsel together, against Yahweh, and against his Anointed, saying,“ Let’s break their bonds apart, and cast their cords from us.”
