『耶路撒冷啊，耶路撒冷，你常殺害神言人，扔石頭打死奉差遣到你裏面去的人。我多少次願意聚集你的兒女，彷彿母雞把自己的小雞聚集在翅膀底下，你們卻不願意！

但你多年寬容他們，又用你的靈、由你的神言人們經手勸告他們，他們仍不側耳聽從；因此你將他們交在四圍各地別族之民手中。

你們要有憐憫的心，正像你們的父有憐憫的心一樣。

人恨惡你們，隔絕你們，辱罵並革除你們的名、認為是惡，為了人子的緣故、你們是有福的。當那日子、你們要歡喜跳躍；因為你看，你們在天上的賞報是大的；因為他們的祖宗對神言人們也這樣行。

其餘的抓住了他的奴僕，凌辱了，殺了。

應當歡喜快樂，因為你們在天上的賞報很大；因為你們以前的神言人，人也這樣逼迫他們。

其實我告訴你們，以利亞已經來了，人竟任意而待他，正如經上指着他所記載的。』

自從你們列祖出埃及地那一天到今日，我差遣我的眾僕人神言人去找你們，我及時而屢次地差遣他們，但這人民卻不聽從，不傾耳以聽，竟硬着脖子作壞事，比他們列祖還厲害。『你要將這一切話告訴他們，雖則他們不聽從；你要呼喚他們，儘管他們不應；你要對他們說：「這就是不聽永恆主他們之上帝的聲音，不接受管教的國；忠信已經滅沒，被割斷離開他們的口了。
