「耶路撒冷啊，耶路撒冷！這城殺害先知們，又用石頭砸死被差到她這裡的人！我多次想聚集你的兒女，像母雞把自己的小雞聚集在翅膀下，可是你們不願意！

你們要仁慈，正如你們的父是仁慈的。

當人們因人子的緣故憎恨你們，排斥你們，責罵你們，把你們當做惡人革除你們的名，你們就是蒙福的。「在那一天，你們當歡喜，當歡然跳躍，因為看哪，你們在天上的報償是大的。要知道，那些人的祖先也是同樣對待先知們的。

其餘的竟抓住王的奴僕們，凌辱他們，並且把他們殺了。

你們當歡喜，當快樂，因為你們在天上的報償是大的。要知道，那些人也這樣逼迫了在你們以前的先知們。

不過我告訴你們：其實以利亞已經來了，人們卻任意對待他，正如經上指著他所寫的。」
