For all[ they] did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had,[ even] all her living.

眾納所餘、婦則於不足之中、盡獻其養生之資矣。』

They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything— all she had to live on.”

They all gave a lot because they are rich. But she gave even though she is poor. She put in everything she had. That was all she had to live on.”

And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any,

And[ some] of the chief of the fathers, when they came to the house of the LORD which[ is] at Jerusalem, offered freely for the house of God to set it up in his place:They gave after their ability unto the treasure of the work threescore and one thousand drams of gold, and five thousand pound of silver, and one hundred priests’ garments.

No man shall take the nether or the upper millstone to pledge: for he taketh[ a man’s] life to pledge.

And all the princes and all the people rejoiced, and brought in, and cast into the chest, until they had made an end.Now it came to pass, that at what time the chest was brought unto the king’s office by the hand of the Levites, and when they saw that[ there was] much money, the king’s scribe and the high priest’s officer came and emptied the chest, and took it, and carried it to his place again. Thus they did day by day, and gathered money in abundance.And the king and Jehoiada gave it to such as did the work of the service of the house of the LORD, and hired masons and carpenters to repair the house of the LORD, and also such as wrought iron and brass to mend the house of the LORD.So the workmen wrought, and the work was perfected by them, and they set the house of God in his state, and strengthened it.And when they had finished[ it], they brought the rest of the money before the king and Jehoiada, whereof were made vessels for the house of the LORD,[ even] vessels to minister, and to offer[ withal], and spoons, and vessels of gold and silver. And they offered burnt offerings in the house of the LORD continually all the days of Jehoiada.

And Josiah gave to the people, of the flock, lambs and kids, all for the passover offerings, for all that were present, to the number of thirty thousand, and three thousand bullocks: these[ were] of the king’s substance.And his princes gave willingly unto the people, to the priests, and to the Levites: Hilkiah and Zechariah and Jehiel, rulers of the house of God, gave unto the priests for the passover offerings two thousand and six hundred[ small cattle], and three hundred oxen.

Now I have prepared with all my might for the house of my God the gold for[ things to be made] of gold, and the silver for[ things] of silver, and the brass for[ things] of brass, the iron for[ things] of iron, and wood for[ things] of wood; onyx stones, and[ stones] to be set, glistering stones, and of divers colours, and all manner of precious stones, and marble stones in abundance.Moreover, because I have set my affection to the house of my God, I have of mine own proper good, of gold and silver,[ which] I have given to the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house,[ Even] three thousand talents of gold, of the gold of Ophir, and seven thousand talents of refined silver, to overlay the walls of the houses[ withal]:The gold for[ things] of gold, and the silver for[ things] of silver, and for all manner of work[ to be made] by the hands of artificers. And who[ then] is willing to consecrate his service this day unto the LORD?Then the chief of the fathers and princes of the tribes of Israel, and the captains of thousands and of hundreds, with the rulers of the king’s work, offered willingly,And gave for the service of the house of God of gold five thousand talents and ten thousand drams, and of silver ten thousand talents, and of brass eighteen thousand talents, and one hundred thousand talents of iron.And they with whom[ precious] stones were found gave[ them] to the treasure of the house of the LORD, by the hand of Jehiel the Gershonite.Then the people rejoiced, for that they offered willingly, because with perfect heart they offered willingly to the LORD: and David the king also rejoiced with great joy.Wherefore David blessed the LORD before all the congregation: and David said, Blessed[ be] thou, LORD God of Israel our father, for ever and ever.Thine, O LORD,[ is] the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all[ that is] in the heaven and in the earth[ is thine]; thine[ is] the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all.Both riches and honour[ come] of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand[ is] power and might; and in thine hand[ it is] to make great, and to give strength unto all.Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name.But who[ am] I, and what[ is] my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? for all things[ come] of thee, and of thine own have we given thee.For we[ are] strangers before thee, and sojourners, as[ were] all our fathers: our days on the earth[ are] as a shadow, and[ there is] none abiding.O LORD our God, all this store that we have prepared to build thee an house for thine holy name[ cometh] of thine hand, and[ is] all thine own.I know also, my God, that thou triest the heart, and hast pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of mine heart I have willingly offered all these things: and now have I seen with joy thy people, which are present here, to offer willingly unto thee.

And as soon as the commandment came abroad, the children of Israel brought in abundance the firstfruits of corn, wine, and oil, and honey, and of all the increase of the field; and the tithe of all[ things] brought they in abundantly.And[ concerning] the children of Israel and Judah, that dwelt in the cities of Judah, they also brought in the tithe of oxen and sheep, and the tithe of holy things which were consecrated unto the LORD their God, and laid[ them] by heaps.In the third month they began to lay the foundation of the heaps, and finished[ them] in the seventh month.And when Hezekiah and the princes came and saw the heaps, they blessed the LORD, and his people Israel.Then Hezekiah questioned with the priests and the Levites concerning the heaps.And Azariah the chief priest of the house of Zadok answered him, and said, Since[ the people] began to bring the offerings into the house of the LORD, we have had enough to eat, and have left plenty: for the LORD hath blessed his people; and that which is left[ is] this great store.

How that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality.For to[ their] power, I bear record, yea, and beyond[ their] power[ they were] willing of themselves;

And some of the chief of the fathers gave unto the work. The Tirshatha gave to the treasure a thousand drams of gold, fifty basons, five hundred and thirty priests’ garments.And[ some] of the chief of the fathers gave to the treasure of the work twenty thousand drams of gold, and two thousand and two hundred pound of silver.And[ that] which the rest of the people gave[ was] twenty thousand drams of gold, and two thousand pound of silver, and threescore and seven priests’ garments.

But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf.

But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at the last your care of me hath flourished again; wherein ye were also careful, but ye lacked opportunity.Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am,[ therewith] to be content.I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.Notwithstanding ye have well done, that ye did communicate with my affliction.Now ye Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving, but ye only.For even in Thessalonica ye sent once and again unto my necessity.Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account.

And the younger of them said to[ his] father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth[ to me]. And he divided unto them[ his] living.

And he saw also a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites.And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all:For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had.
