While Jesus was teaching in the temple courts, he asked,“ Why do the teachers of the law say that the Messiah is the son of David?

And as Jesus taught in the temple, he said,“ How can the scribes say that the Christ is the son of David?

Later, as Jesus was teaching the people in the Temple, he asked,“ Why do the teachers of religious law claim that the Messiah is the son of David?

And Jesus responded and began saying, as He taught in the temple area,“ How is it that the scribes say that the Christ is the son of David?

Then Jesus answered and said, while He taught in the temple,“ How is it that the scribes say that the Christ is the Son of David?

And Jesus answered and said, as he taught in the temple, How say the scribes that the Christ is the son of David?

So Jesus asked this question as He taught in the temple complex,“ How can the scribes say that the Messiah is the Son of David?

While Jesus was teaching in the temple courts, he said,“ How is it that the experts in the law say that the Christ is David’s son?

Jesus responded, as he taught in the temple,“ How is it that the scribes say that the Christ is the son of David?

Jesus said to them,“ Why do people say that the Messiah is the son of David?David himself says in the Book of Psalms,“‘ The Lord said to my Lord,“ Sit at my right handuntil I put your enemies under your control.” ’( Psalm 110:1)David calls him‘ Lord.’ So how can he be David’s son?”

At that time Jesus spoke to the crowd.“ Am I leading a band of armed men against you?” he asked.“ Do you have to come out with swords and clubs to capture me? Every day I sat in the temple courtyard teaching. And you didn’t arrest me.

Each day Jesus taught at the temple. And each evening he went to spend the night on the hill called the Mount of Olives.

Doesn’t Scripture say that the Messiah will come from the family line of David? Doesn’t it say that he will come from Bethlehem, the town where David lived?”

“ I have spoken openly to the world,” Jesus replied.“ I always taught in synagogues or at the temple, where all the Jews come together. I didn’t say anything in secret.

As Jesus went on from there, two blind men followed him. They called out,“ Have mercy on us, Son of David!”

Every day Jesus was teaching at the temple. But the chief priests and the teachers of the law were trying to kill him. So were the leaders among the people.

The Pharisees were gathered together. Jesus asked them,“ What do you think about the Messiah? Whose son is he?”“ The son of David,” they replied.He said to them,“ Then why does David call him‘ Lord’? The Holy Spirit spoke through David himself. David said,“‘ The Lord said to my Lord,“ Sit at my right hand until I put your enemies under your control.” ’( Psalm 110:1)So if David calls him‘ Lord,’ how can he be David’s son?”

Jesus and his disciples arrived again in Jerusalem. He was walking in the temple courtyard. Then the chief priests came to him. The teachers of the law and the elders came too.

One day Jesus was teaching the people in the temple courtyard. He was announcing the good news to them. The chief priests and the teachers of the law came up to him. The elders came with them.
