但耶穌卻問他們說：『人怎麼說上帝所膏立者是大衛的子孫呢？大衛在《詩篇》書上親自說：「主對我主說了：你坐在我右邊，等我處置你仇敵做你腳的凳子。」這樣，大衛既稱他為主，他怎麼又是大衛的子孫呢？』

當那時候耶穌對羣眾說：『你們出來，帶着刀棒要捉拿我，如同拿強盜麼？我天天坐在殿裏教訓人，你們並沒有抓住我呀！

白天耶穌在殿裏教訓人，夜裏就出去到那叫橄欖園的山上住宿。

經上豈不是說：「基督是出於大衛的後裔，大衛所在的村子伯利恆」麼？』

耶穌回答他說：『我從來是坦然公開地向世人講話；我常常在會堂在殿裏、眾猶太人聚集的地方、教訓人，並沒有在隱密中講甚麼呀。

耶穌從那裏往前走，有兩個瞎子跟着他，喊着說：『大衛的子孫哪，憐恤我們吧！』

耶穌天天在殿院裏教訓人。祭司長經學士和民間的首領、想法子要殺滅他，

法利賽人聚集的時候，耶穌詰問他們說：『關於基督，你們以為怎樣？他是誰的子孫呢？』他們對他說，『大衛的。』耶穌對他們說，『那麼大衛在聖靈感動中怎麼還稱他為主，說：「主對我主說了：你坐在我右邊，等我處置你仇敵在你腳下」呢？大衛既稱他為主，他怎麼又是大衛的子孫呢？』

他們又來到耶路撒冷；耶穌在殿院裏走的時候，祭司長經學士和長老們來見他，

這些日子有一天，耶穌在殿院裏教訓人民、傳福音的時候、祭司長和經學士同長老上前來，
