While Jesus was teaching in the temple courts, he asked,“ Why do the teachers of the law say that the Messiah is the son of David?

耶穌又問之曰：『人何言基督為大維之裔乎？夫聖詠中大維親自言云：「主語吾主、坐我右側、待我克敵、供爾踐踏。」夫大維既稱之為主矣、彼又焉能為大維之子乎？』

顧語眾曰：『爾手刃持梃、捕予一如捕盜。予曩者日坐殿中施訓於爾、何不執之？

耶穌晝在殿中施訓、夜則出宿忠果山中、眾民夙興、登殿聆訓。

經不云：「基督出於大維之裔、而來自大維故鄉百利恆」乎？』

耶穌對曰：『予向公開言論、施訓會堂聖殿中、此皆猶太人會集之所、未嘗言之於隱、

耶穌既出、有盲者二人踵其後而呼曰：『大維子、其垂憐焉。』

耶穌日訓殿中、而司祭長經生及諸紳正謀所以置諸死地、苦無良策；蓋民皆樂聆其訓、為之神往。

法利塞人既集、耶穌問之曰：『爾於基督之觀念若何？彼其誰之子耶？』曰：『大維裔。』曰：『然則大維感於聖神、呼之曰「主、」何也？「主語吾主、坐我右側、待我克敵、任爾踐踏。」

耶穌復進耶路撒冷、行聖殿中。司祭長經生長老進而問曰：

一日、耶穌在殿施訓於民、宣講福音、司祭長、經生、長老、進而謂之曰：
