耶穌問他們：“人怎麼能說基督是大衛的子孫呢？大衛自己在詩篇上說：‘主對我的主說：你坐在我的右邊，等我使你的仇敵作你的腳凳。’大衛既然稱他為主，他又怎會是大衛的子孫呢？”

那時，耶穌對眾人說：“你們帶著刀棒出來，把我當作強盜捉拿嗎？我天天坐在殿裡教導人，你們卻沒有逮捕我。

耶穌白天在殿裡教導人，晚上就到橄欖山上去過夜。

聖經不是說基督是大衛的後裔，是從大衛本鄉伯利恆出來的嗎？”

耶穌對大祭司說：“我向來對世人講話都是公開的，我常常在會堂和聖殿裡，就是在所有猶太人聚集的地方教導人，暗地裡我並沒有講甚麼。

耶穌離開那裡的時候，有兩個瞎子跟著他，喊著說：“大衛的子孫，可憐我們吧！”

他天天在聖殿裡教導人，祭司長、經學家和民間的首領，都想殺害他；

法利賽人聚在一起的時候，耶穌問他們：“你們對基督的看法怎樣？他是誰的子孫呢？”他們回答：“大衛的子孫。”耶穌就說：“那麼大衛被聖靈感動，怎麼會稱他為主呢？他說：‘主對我的主說：你坐在我的右邊，等我把你的仇敵放在你的腳下。’“大衛既然稱他為主，他怎麼又是大衛的子孫呢？”

他們又來到耶路撒冷。耶穌在殿裡行走的時候，祭司長、經學家和長老來到他跟前，
