耶穌每天在聖殿裡講道，晚上則到城外的橄欖山上過夜。

聖經上不是說基督是大衛的後裔，要降生在大衛的故鄉伯利恆嗎？」

耶穌說：「我是公開對世人講的，我常在猶太人聚集的會堂和聖殿教導人，沒有在背地裡講過什麼。

耶穌從那裡往前走，有兩個瞎子跟著祂，高聲呼叫：「大衛的後裔啊，可憐我們吧！」

祂天天在聖殿教導人，祭司長、律法教師和百姓的官長都想殺祂，

耶穌趁著法利賽人聚在那裡，就問他們：「你們對基督有何看法？祂是誰的後裔？」他們答道：「大衛的後裔。」耶穌說：「那麼，為什麼大衛受聖靈感動，稱祂為主呢？大衛曾說，『主對我主說，你坐在我的右邊，等我使你的仇敵伏在你腳下。』既然大衛稱基督為主，基督又怎麼會是大衛的後裔呢？」
