法利賽人聞耶穌使撒都該人語塞、遂集、中有為律師者、問而試之曰、夫子、律中之誡、孰為大、曰、當盡心、盡性、盡意、愛主爾之上帝、此誡之首而大者、其次愛鄰如己亦猶是、全律及先知、統於此二誡也、○

有律師起而試之曰、夫子、我當何為、以嗣永生、耶穌曰、律所載者何耶、爾讀之如何、對曰、爾當盡心、盡性、盡力、盡意、愛主爾之上帝、亦當愛鄰如己、耶穌曰、爾所對是也、行此則生、

有士子數人曰、夫子所言善矣、

故廢此誡至微之一、又以是訓人者、在天國必謂之至微、惟遵行之、且以訓人者、在天國必謂之大也、

曰、何誡乎、耶穌曰、勿殺、勿淫、勿竊、勿妄敬、

禍哉、爾偽善之士子與法利賽人乎、以爾於薄荷、茴香、馬芹、十輸其一、而於律之尤重者、若義與慈與信、則遺之、此乃爾所當行、而彼亦不可遺也、

禍哉、爾法利賽人乎、以爾於薄荷、芸香、及諸蔬、十輸其一、而於義、及向上帝之愛、則忽之、此乃爾所當行、而彼亦不可遺也、
