Now about the dead rising— have you not read in the Book of Moses, in the account of the burning bush, how God said to him,‘ I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’?

What about the dead rising? Haven’t you read in the Book of Moses the story of the burning bush? God said to Moses,‘ I am the God of Abraham. I am the God of Isaac. And I am the God of Jacob.’( Exodus 3:6)

And as for the dead being raised, have you not read in the book of Moses, in the passage about the bush, how God spoke to him, saying,‘ I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’?

“ But now, as to whether the dead will be raised— haven’t you ever read about this in the writings of Moses, in the story of the burning bush? Long after Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob had died, God said to Moses,‘ I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’

經載云、工師所棄之石、成為屋隅首石、

論死者復活、豈未讀天主所諭爾者乎、云我乃亞伯拉罕之天主、以撒之天主、雅各之天主、天主非死者之天主、乃生者之天主也、

越四十年、主之使者在西乃山之野、荊棘火焰中、現於摩西、摩西見異象、奇之、近前詳視、聞主之聲、謂之曰、我乃爾祖之天主、即亞伯拉罕之天主、以撒之天主、雅各之天主、摩西戰慄不敢視、

惟爾以色列我之僕、我所選之雅各、我所眷愛亞伯拉罕之苗裔、我自地極援引爾、自地之遠方召爾至、謂爾曰、爾乃我之僕、我選爾、不棄爾、毋畏葸、我必祐爾、勿膽怯、我乃爾之天主、必堅強爾、濟助爾、我必以施救之右手扶持爾、

倘吾祖父之天主、即亞伯拉罕之天主以撒所畏之天主不祐我、爾則使我徒手而去、天主鑒我之辛苦劬勞、故昨宵責爾、

雅各遂禱曰、吾祖亞伯拉罕之天主、吾父以撒之天主耶和華歟、昔命我云、返爾故土故族、我必賜恩於爾、

主之使者從荊棘火燄中、顯現於摩西、摩西見荊棘為火所焚而不燬、摩西曰、我必往前、睹此大異象、荊棘不燬何故、主見其往前來觀、天主自荊棘中呼之曰、摩西、摩西、對曰、我在此、曰、勿近此、解屨於爾足、蓋爾立之所乃聖地、又曰、我乃爾父之天主、亞伯拉罕之天主、以撒之天主、雅各之天主、摩西蔽面、不敢觀天主、

主立於梯上、或作立於其側曰、我乃耶和華、即爾祖亞伯拉罕之天主、與以撒之天主、爾所臥之地、悉以賜爾及爾後裔、
