Pay to all what is due them: tax to whom tax is due; custom to whom custom; respect to whom respect; honor to whom honor.

and do not go on presenting the parts of your body to sin as instruments of unrighteousness; but present yourselves to God as those who are alive from the dead, and your body’s parts as instruments of righteousness for God.

He* said,“ Yes.” And when he came into the house, Jesus spoke to him first, saying,“ What do you think, Simon? From whom do the kings of the earth collect customs or poll tax, from their sons or from strangers?”When Peter said,“ From strangers,” Jesus said to him,“ Then the sons are exempt.However, so that we do not offend them, go to the sea and throw in a hook, and take the first fish that comes up; and when you open its mouth, you will find a stater. Take that and give it to them for you and Me.”

Give me your heart, my son, And let your eyes delight in my ways.

When you make a vow to God, do not be late in paying it; for He takes no delight in fools. Pay what you vow!It is better that you not vow, than vow and not pay.

Therefore I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.

When the crowds heard this, they were astonished at His teaching.

But if all prophesy, and an unbeliever or an outsider enters, he is convicted by all, he is called to account by all;the secrets of his heart are disclosed; and so he will fall on his face and worship God, declaring that God is certainly among you.

“ ‘ A son honors his father, and a servant his master. Then if I am a father, where is My honor? And if I am a master, where is My respect?’ says the Lord of armies to you, the priests who despise My name! But you say,‘ How have we despised Your name?’

But Peter and John answered and said to them,“ Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than to God, make your own judgment;for we cannot stop speaking about what we have seen and heard.”

He frustrates the schemes of the shrewd, So that their hands cannot attain success.He captures the wise by their own cleverness, And the advice of the cunning is quickly thwarted.

For the love of Christ controls us, having concluded this, that one died for all, therefore all died;and He died for all, so that those who live would no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose on their behalf.

Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?For you have been bought for a price: therefore glorify God in your body.

And hearing this, they were amazed; and they left Him and went away.

Honor all people, love the brotherhood, fear God, honor the king.

No one was able to offer Him a word in answer, nor did anyone dare from that day on to ask Him any more questions.

and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’
