吾人究應納否？』耶穌心知其詐、曰：『何事見試？取銀予我一觀。』

並且被造之物在神面前，沒有一樣不是顯明的；萬有在他眼前，都是赤裸敞開的；我們都要向他交代。

我們也不可試探基督，像他們中的有些人試探了，結果就被蛇所滅。

有些法利賽人前來試探耶穌，問他：「人是否可以休妻呢？」

彼得就對她說：「你們為什麼同心試探主的靈呢？看，埋葬你丈夫之人的腳，已經到門口了，他們也要把你抬出去。」

耶穌看出他們的詭詐，就對他們說：

我要用瘟疫擊殺她的兒女，這樣各教會就將知道我就是洞察情感和心思的那一位；我也要照著你們的行為回報你們每個人。

但耶穌自己卻信不過他們，因為他了解所有的人。他也不需要誰來見證人的事，因為他知道人裡面是什麼。

耶穌第三次問他：「約翰的兒子西門，你喜愛我嗎？」彼得感到憂傷，因為耶穌第三次是對他說：「你喜愛我嗎？」彼得說：「主啊，你知道一切，你知道我喜愛你。」耶穌對他說：「餵養我的羊。

耶穌看出他們的惡意，就說：「你們這些偽善的人！為什麼試探我呢？
