一些法利賽人想試探耶穌，就來問祂：「男人可以休妻嗎？」

彼得說：「你們二人怎麼串通起來試探主的靈呢？埋葬你丈夫的人就到門口了，他們也要把你抬出去。」

耶穌看破他們的陰謀，

耶穌卻不信任他們，因為祂洞悉萬人。不用別人告訴祂，祂也深知人的內心。

耶穌第三次問：「約翰的兒子西門，你愛我嗎？」彼得因為耶穌一連三次這樣問他，就難過起來，於是對耶穌說：「主啊！你是無所不知的，你知道我愛你。」耶穌說：「你要餵養我的羊。
