When Peter saw this, he addressed the people:“ Men of Israel, why are you amazed at this? Or why do you stare at us, as though we had made him walk by our own power or godliness?The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified His Servant Jesus, whom you handed over and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he had decided to release Him.But you denied the Holy and Righteous One and asked to have a murderer given to you.You killed the source of life, whom God raised from the dead; we are witnesses of this.By faith in His name, His name has made this man strong, whom you see and know. So the faith that comes through Him has given him this perfect health in front of all of you.

God wanted to make known among the Gentiles the glorious wealth of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

Look at the nations and observe— be utterly astounded! For something is taking place in your days that you will not believe when you hear about it.

So beware that what is said in the prophets does not happen to you:Look, you scoffers, marvel and vanish away, because I am doing a work in your days, a work that you will never believe, even if someone were to explain it to you.”

There is no magic curse against Jacob and no divination against Israel. It will now be said about Jacob and Israel,“ What great things God has done!”

And most certainly, the mystery of godliness is great: He was manifested in the flesh, vindicated in the Spirit, seen by angels, preached among the nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory.

This grace was given to me— the least of all the saints— to proclaim to the Gentiles the incalculable riches of the Messiah,and to shed light for all about the administration of the mystery hidden for ages in God who created all things.This is so God’s multi-faceted wisdom may now be made known through the church to the rulers and authorities in the heavens.This is according to His eternal purpose accomplished in the Messiah, Jesus our Lord.

They were all astounded and perplexed, saying to one another,“ What could this be?”
