So they answered Jesus,“ We don’t know.” And Jesus said to them,“ Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.”

遂對曰、不知也、耶穌曰、我亦不告爾以何權行是矣、

遂對曰不知、耶穌曰、我亦不以何權行是告爾也、

遂對耶穌曰、我儕不知、耶穌曰、我亦不告爾我以何權行此諸事、

乃答不知。耶穌曰：『則吾亦不願告爾憑何權而行此矣。』

So they answered Jesus,“ We don’t know.” Jesus said,“ Neither will I tell you by what authority I am doing these things.”

So they answered Jesus,“ We don’t know.” Jesus said,“ Then I won’t tell you by what authority I am doing these things either.”

So they answered Jesus,“ We do not know.” And Jesus said to them,“ Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.”

So they finally replied,“ We don’t know.” And Jesus responded,“ Then I won’t tell you by what authority I do these things.”

So they answered Jesus,“ We don’t know.” And Jesus said to them,“ Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.”

Answering Jesus, they* said,“ We do not know.” And Jesus* said to them,“ Neither am I telling you by what authority I do these things.”

So they answered and said to Jesus,“ We do not know.” And Jesus answered and said to them,“ Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.”

And they answered Jesus and say, We know not. And Jesus saith unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.

And they answered and said unto Jesus, We cannot tell. And Jesus answering saith unto them, Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.

So they answered Jesus,“ We don’t know.” Then Jesus said to them,“ Neither will I tell you by what authority I am doing these things.”

They answered Jesus,“ We don’t know.” Jesus said to them,“ Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.”

“ I already told you,” he said,“ and you didn’t listen. Why do you want to hear it again? You don’t want to become His disciples too, do you?”

So they answered that they did not know its origin.And Jesus said to them,“ Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.”

Even to this day, whenever Moses is read, a veil lies over their hearts,

The ox knows its owner, and the donkey its master’s feeding trough, but Israel does not know; My people do not understand.”

Stop and be astonished; blind yourselves and be blind! They are drunk, but not with wine; they stagger, but not with beer.For the Lord has poured out on you an overwhelming urge to sleep; He has shut your eyes— the prophets, and covered your heads— the seers.For you the entire vision will be like the words of a sealed document. If it is given to one who can read and he is asked to read it, he will say,“ I can’t read it, because it is sealed.”And if the document is given to one who cannot read and he is asked to read it, he will say,“ I can’t read.”The Lord said: Because these people approach Me with their mouths to honor Me with lip-service— yet their hearts are far from Me, and their worship consists of man-made rules learned by rote—therefore I will again confound these people with wonder after wonder. The wisdom of their wise men will vanish, and the understanding of the perceptive will be hidden.

Leave them alone! They are blind guides. And if the blind guide the blind, both will fall into a pit.”

An evil and adulterous generation demands a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah.” Then He left them and went away.

“ Woe to you, blind guides, who say,‘ Whoever takes an oath by the sanctuary, it means nothing. But whoever takes an oath by the gold of the sanctuary is bound by his oath.’Blind fools! For which is greater, the gold or the sanctuary that sanctified the gold?Also,‘ Whoever takes an oath by the altar, it means nothing. But whoever takes an oath by the gift that is on it is bound by his oath.’Blind people! For which is greater, the gift or the altar that sanctifies the gift?Therefore, the one who takes an oath by the altar takes an oath by it and by everything on it.The one who takes an oath by the sanctuary takes an oath by it and by Him who dwells in it.And the one who takes an oath by heaven takes an oath by God’s throne and by Him who sits on it.“ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! You pay a tenth of mint, dill, and cumin, yet you have neglected the more important matters of the law— justice, mercy, and faith. These things should have been done without neglecting the others.Blind guides! You strain out a gnat, yet gulp down a camel!“ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence!Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup, so the outside of it may also become clean.

When daylight came, the elders of the people, both the chief priests and the scribes, convened and brought Him before their Sanhedrin.They said,“ If You are the Messiah, tell us.” But He said to them,“ If I do tell you, you will not believe.And if I ask you, you will not answer.But from now on, the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the Power of God.”

Even the stork in the sky knows her seasons. The turtledove, swallow, and crane are aware of their migration, but My people do not know the requirements of the Lord.“ How can you claim,‘ We are wise; the law of the Lord is with us’? In fact, the lying pen of scribes has produced falsehood.The wise will be put to shame; they will be dismayed and snared. They have rejected the word of the Lord, so what wisdom do they really have?

Don’t answer a fool according to his foolishness or you’ll be like him yourself.Answer a fool according to his foolishness or he’ll become wise in his own eyes.

and with every unrighteous deception among those who are perishing. They perish because they did not accept the love of the truth in order to be saved.For this reason God sends them a strong delusion so that they will believe what is false,so that all will be condemned— those who did not believe the truth but enjoyed unrighteousness.

But if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing.In their case, the god of this age has blinded the minds of the unbelievers so they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

So they answered Jesus,“ We don’t know.” And He said to them,“ Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.

He traps the wise in their craftiness so that the plans of the deceptive are quickly brought to an end.

And because they did not think it worthwhile to acknowledge God, God delivered them over to a worthless mind to do what is morally wrong.

Who is blind but My servant, or deaf like My messenger I am sending? Who is blind like My dedicated one, or blind like the servant of the Lord?Though seeing many things, you do not obey. Though his ears are open, he does not listen.”

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I will reject you from serving as My priest. Since you have forgotten the law of your God, I will also forget your sons.

In that same hour He rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and said,“ I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because You have hidden these things from the wise and the learned and have revealed them to infants. Yes, Father, because this was Your good pleasure.All things have been entrusted to Me by My Father. No one knows who the Son is except the Father, and who the Father is except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son desires to reveal Him.”

Israel’s watchmen are blind, all of them, they know nothing; all of them are mute dogs, they cannot bark; they dream, lie down, and love to sleep.

“ Are you a teacher of Israel and don’t know these things?” Jesus replied.

And He replied: Go! Say to these people: Keep listening, but do not understand; keep looking, but do not perceive.Dull the minds of these people; deafen their ears and blind their eyes; otherwise they might see with their eyes and hear with their ears, understand with their minds, turn back, and be healed.

For God’s wrath is revealed from heaven against all godlessness and unrighteousness of people who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth,since what can be known about God is evident among them, because God has shown it to them.For His invisible attributes, that is, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen since the creation of the world, being understood through what He has made. As a result, people are without excuse.For though they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God or show gratitude. Instead, their thinking became nonsense, and their senseless minds were darkened.Claiming to be wise, they became fools

For the lips of a priest should guard knowledge, and people should seek instruction from his mouth, because he is the messenger of the Lord of Hosts.“ You, on the other hand, have turned from the way. You have caused many to stumble by your instruction. You have violated the covenant of Levi,” says the Lord of Hosts.
