On reaching Jerusalem, Jesus entered the temple courts and began driving out those who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves,

猶太人的逾越節近了，耶穌就上耶路撒冷去。看見殿裏有賣牛、羊、鴿子的，並有兌換銀錢的人坐在那裏，耶穌就拿繩子做成鞭子，把牛羊都趕出殿去，倒出兌換銀錢之人的銀錢，推翻他們的桌子，又對賣鴿子的說：「把這些東西拿去！不要將我父的殿當作買賣的地方。」他的門徒就想起經上記着說：「我為你的殿心裏焦急，如同火燒。」

耶穌進了神的殿，趕出殿裏一切做買賣的人，推倒兌換銀錢之人的桌子，和賣鴿子之人的凳子，對他們說：「經上記着說：我的殿必稱為禱告的殿，你們倒使它成為賊窩了。」在殿裏有瞎子、瘸子到耶穌跟前，他就治好了他們。祭司長和文士看見耶穌所行的奇事，又見小孩子在殿裏喊着說：「和散那歸於大衛的子孫！」就甚惱怒，對他說：「這些人所說的，你聽見了嗎？」耶穌說：「是的。經上說『你從嬰孩和吃奶的口中完全了讚美』的話，你們沒有念過嗎？」

耶穌進了殿，趕出裏頭做買賣的人，對他們說：「經上說：我的殿必作禱告的殿，你們倒使它成為賊窩了。」耶穌天天在殿裏教訓人。祭司長和文士與百姓的尊長都想要殺他，

你就可以換成銀子，將銀子包起來，拿在手中，往耶和華－你神所要選擇的地方去。你用這銀子，隨心所欲，或買牛羊，或買清酒濃酒，凡你心所想的都可以買；你和你的家屬在耶和華－你神的面前吃喝快樂。
