Look, the world has gone after him.”

but Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.

Now when they drew near to Jerusalem and came to Bethphage, to the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples,saying to them,“ Go into the village in front of you, and immediately you will find a donkey tied, and a colt with her. Untie them and bring them to me.If anyone says anything to you, you shall say,‘ The Lord needs them,’ and he will send them at once.”This took place to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet, saying,“ Say to the daughter of Zion,‘ Behold, your king is coming to you, humble, and mounted on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a beast of burden.’”The disciples went and did as Jesus had directed them.They brought the donkey and the colt and put on them their cloaks, and he sat on them.Most of the crowd spread their cloaks on the road, and others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road.And the crowds that went before him and that followed him were shouting,“ Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!”And when he entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred up, saying,“ Who is this?”And the crowds said,“ This is the prophet Jesus, from Nazareth of Galilee.”

When he drew near to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount that is called Olivet, he sent two of the disciples,saying,“ Go into the village in front of you, where on entering you will find a colt tied, on which no one has ever yet sat. Untie it and bring it here.If anyone asks you,‘ Why are you untying it?’ you shall say this:‘ The Lord has need of it.’”So those who were sent went away and found it just as he had told them.And as they were untying the colt, its owners said to them,“ Why are you untying the colt?”And they said,“ The Lord has need of it.”And they brought it to Jesus, and throwing their cloaks on the colt, they set Jesus on it.And as he rode along, they spread their cloaks on the road.As he was drawing near— already on the way down the Mount of Olives— the whole multitude of his disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen,saying,“ Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”And some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to him,“ Teacher, rebuke your disciples.”He answered,“ I tell you, if these were silent, the very stones would cry out.”

As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying,“ Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?”

On that day his feet shall stand on the Mount of Olives that lies before Jerusalem on the east, and the Mount of Olives shall be split in two from east to west by a very wide valley, so that one half of the Mount shall move northward, and the other half southward.

And leaving them, he went out of the city to Bethany and lodged there.

And he sent two of his disciples and said to them,“ Go into the city, and a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him,

And when they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.

Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath day’s journey away.

And as he sat on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately,

And he called the twelve and began to send them out two by two, and gave them authority over the unclean spirits.

But David went up the ascent of the Mount of Olives, weeping as he went, barefoot and with his head covered. And all the people who were with him covered their heads, and they went up, weeping as they went.
