耶稣找到一头小驴，就骑在上面，正如经上所记的：“锡安的居民哪，不要惧怕；看哪，你的王来了，他骑着小驴来了。”门徒起初不明白这些事，可是到耶稣得了荣耀以后，他们才想起这些话是指着他说的，并且人们果然向他这样行了。那些和耶稣在一起，看见他叫拉撒路从坟墓出来，又使他从死人中复活的群众，都为这事作见证。群众因为听见他行了这神迹，就去迎接他。于是法利赛人彼此说：“你们看，你们都是徒劳无功，世人都去跟随他了！”

耶稣往橄榄山去。

耶稣和门徒走近耶路撒冷，来到橄榄山的伯法其那里。耶稣派了两个门徒，对他们说：“你们往对面的村子里去，立刻就会看见一头驴拴在那里，还有小驴跟它在一起。把它们解开，牵来给我。如果有人问你们，就要说：‘主需要它们。’他会立刻让你们牵走。”这件事应验了先知所说的：“要对锡安的居民﹙“居民”原文作“女子”。﹚说：‘看哪，你的王来到你这里了；他是温柔的，他骑着驴，骑的是小驴。’”门徒照着耶稣的吩咐去作。牵了驴和小驴来，把衣服搭在它们上面，耶稣就骑上。有一大群人把自己的衣服铺在路上，也有人从树上把树枝砍下来，铺在路上。前呼后拥的群众喊叫着：“‘和散那’归于大卫的子孙，奉主名来的是应当称颂的，高天之上当唱‘和散那’。”耶稣进了耶路撒冷，全城都震动起来，他们问：“这人是谁？”大家都说：“这就是那先知耶稣，是从加利利的拿撒勒来的。”

将到伯法其和伯大尼，就在橄榄山那里，他差派两个门徒，说：“你们往对面的村子里去，走进去的时候，就会看见一头从来没有人骑过的小驴，拴在那里，把它解开牵来。如果有人问为什么解开它，你们要这样说：‘主需要它。’”被差的人去了，发现和主所说的一样。他们解开小驴的时候，主人问他们：“你们为什么解开它？”他们说：“主需要它。”他们把小驴牵到耶稣那里，把自己的衣服搭在上面，扶着耶稣上去。耶稣前行的时候，众人把自己的衣服铺在路上。他走近耶路撒冷，快要下橄榄山的时候，全体门徒因为所看见的一切神迹，就欢乐起来，大声赞美神，说：“奉主名来的王，是应当称颂的！在天上有和平，在至高之处有荣耀！”群众中有几个法利赛人对他说：“先生，责备你的门徒吧！”耶稣说：“我告诉你们，他们若不出声，石头都要呼叫了。”

耶稣坐在橄榄山上，门徒暗中前来问他：“请告诉我们，什么时候会有这些事呢？你的降临和这世代的终结，有什么预兆呢？”

到那日，他的脚必站在对着耶路撒冷，在东面的橄榄山上；这橄榄山必从中间裂开，由东至西成为极大的山谷。山的一半向北挪移，一半向南挪移。

于是离开他们，出了城，来到伯大尼，在那里过了一夜。

他就差派两个门徒，对他们说：“你们到城里去，必有一个拿着水瓶的人，向你们迎面而来，你们就跟着他，

他们唱完了诗，就出来往橄榄山去。

后来，他们从橄榄山回到耶路撒冷。那山靠近耶路撒冷，有一安息日可走的路程。

耶稣在橄榄山上，面对圣殿坐着，彼得、雅各、约翰和安得烈私下问他：

他把十二门徒叫来，差遣他们两个两个地出去，赐给他们胜过污灵的权柄；

大卫走上橄榄山；他蒙着头，赤着脚，一边上，一边哭，所有与他在一起的人民也都蒙着头，一边上，一边哭。
