眾責之、使緘默、彼愈呼曰、大衛之裔、矜恤我、

眾斥之、使緘默、彼愈呼曰、大衛之裔、矜憐我、

人多斥之、令勿喧。而彼更抗喉疾呼曰：『大維子、祈垂憐焉。』

Many rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more,“ Son of David, have mercy on me!”

Many people commanded him to stop. They told him to be quiet. But he shouted even louder,“ Son of David! Have mercy on me!”

And many rebuked him, telling him to be silent. But he cried out all the more,“ Son of David, have mercy on me!”

“ Be quiet!” many of the people yelled at him. But he only shouted louder,“ Son of David, have mercy on me!”

Many warned him to keep quiet, but he was crying out all the more,“ Have mercy on me, Son of David!”

Many were sternly telling him to be quiet, but he kept crying out all the more,“ Son of David, have mercy on me!”

And many rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried out the more a great deal, Thou son of David, have mercy on me.

And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal,[ Thou] Son of David, have mercy on me.

Many scolded him to get him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more,“ Son of David, have mercy on me!”

Then little children were brought to Him that He might put His hands on them and pray, but the disciples rebuked them.

Then the multitude warned them that they should be quiet; but they cried out all the more, saying,“ Have mercy on us, O Lord, Son of David!”

While He was still speaking, some came from the ruler of the synagogue’s house who said,“ Your daughter is dead. Why trouble the Teacher any further?”

The woman was a Greek, a Syro-Phoenician by birth, and she kept asking Him to cast the demon out of her daughter.But Jesus said to her,“ Let the children be filled first, for it is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.”And she answered and said to Him,“ Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs under the table eat from the children’s crumbs.”Then He said to her,“ For this saying go your way; the demon has gone out of your daughter.”

And He said to them,“ Which of you shall have a friend, and go to him at midnight and say to him,‘ Friend, lend me three loaves;for a friend of mine has come to me on his journey, and I have nothing to set before him’;and he will answer from within and say,‘ Do not trouble me; the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give to you’?I say to you, though he will not rise and give to him because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence he will rise and give him as many as he needs.“ So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.

who, in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications, with vehement cries and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death, and was heard because of His godly fear,

But He answered her not a word. And His disciples came and urged Him, saying,“ Send her away, for she cries out after us.”But He answered and said,“ I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”Then she came and worshiped Him, saying,“ Lord, help me!”But He answered and said,“ It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.”And she said,“ Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.”Then Jesus answered and said to her,“ O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour.

Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart,saying:“ There was in a certain city a judge who did not fear God nor regard man.Now there was a widow in that city; and she came to him, saying,‘ Get justice for me from my adversary.’And he would not for a while; but afterward he said within himself,‘ Though I do not fear God nor regard man,yet because this widow troubles me I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.’”Then the Lord said,“ Hear what the unjust judge said.And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them?I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?”

praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—

Also to You, O Lord, belongs mercy; For You render to each one according to his work.

And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.

Then those who went before warned him that he should be quiet; but he cried out all the more,“ Son of David, have mercy on me!”

Then Jacob was left alone; and a Man wrestled with him until the breaking of day.Now when He saw that He did not prevail against him, He touched the socket of his hip; and the socket of Jacob’s hip was out of joint as He wrestled with him.And He said,“ Let Me go, for the day breaks.” But he said,“ I will not let You go unless You bless me!”So He said to him,“ What is your name?” He said,“ Jacob.”And He said,“ Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel; for you have struggled with God and with men, and have prevailed.”
