人多斥之、令勿喧。而彼更抗喉疾呼曰：『大維子、祈垂憐焉。』

Many rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more,“ Son of David, have mercy on me!”

“ Be quiet!” many of the people yelled at him. But he only shouted louder,“ Son of David, have mercy on me!”

Many warned him to keep quiet, but he was crying out all the more,“ Have mercy on me, Son of David!”

Many were sternly telling him to be quiet, but he kept crying out all the more,“ Son of David, have mercy on me!”

And many rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried out the more a great deal, Thou son of David, have mercy on me.

Then children were brought to Him so He might put His hands on them and pray. But the disciples rebuked them.

The crowd told them to keep quiet, but they cried out all the more,“ Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David!”

While He was still speaking, people came from the synagogue leader’s house and said,“ Your daughter is dead. Why bother the Teacher anymore?”

Now the woman was Greek, a Syrophoenician by birth, and she kept asking Him to drive the demon out of her daughter.He said to her,“ Allow the children to be satisfied first, because it isn’t right to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.”But she replied to Him,“ Lord, even the dogs under the table eat the children’s crumbs.”Then He told her,“ Because of this reply, you may go. The demon has gone out of your daughter.”

He also said to them:“ Suppose one of you has a friend and goes to him at midnight and says to him,‘ Friend, lend me three loaves of bread,because a friend of mine on a journey has come to me, and I don’t have anything to offer him.’Then he will answer from inside and say,‘ Don’t bother me! The door is already locked, and my children and I have gone to bed. I can’t get up to give you anything.’I tell you, even though he won’t get up and give him anything because he is his friend, yet because of his friend’s persistence, he will get up and give him as much as he needs.“ So I say to you, keep asking, and it will be given to you. Keep searching, and you will find. Keep knocking, and the door will be opened to you.For everyone who asks receives, and the one who searches finds, and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

During His earthly life, He offered prayers and appeals with loud cries and tears to the One who was able to save Him from death, and He was heard because of His reverence.

Yet He did not say a word to her. So His disciples approached Him and urged Him,“ Send her away because she cries out after us.”He replied,“ I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”But she came, knelt before Him, and said,“ Lord, help me!”He answered,“ It isn’t right to take the children’s bread and throw it to their dogs.”“ Yes, Lord,” she said,“ yet even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters’ table!”Then Jesus replied to her,“ Woman, your faith is great. Let it be done for you as you want.” And from that moment her daughter was cured.

He then told them a parable on the need for them to pray always and not become discouraged:“ There was a judge in a certain town who didn’t fear God or respect man.And a widow in that town kept coming to him, saying,‘ Give me justice against my adversary.’“ For a while he was unwilling, but later he said to himself,‘ Even though I don’t fear God or respect man,yet because this widow keeps pestering me, I will give her justice, so she doesn’t wear me out by her persistent coming.’”Then the Lord said,“ Listen to what the unjust judge says.Will not God grant justice to His elect who cry out to Him day and night? Will He delay to help them?I tell you that He will swiftly grant them justice. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He find that faith on earth?”

Pray at all times in the Spirit with every prayer and request, and stay alert in this with all perseverance and intercession for all the saints.

and faithful love belongs to You, Lord. For You repay each according to his works.

You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.

Then those in front told him to keep quiet, but he kept crying out all the more,“ Son of David, have mercy on me!”

Jacob was left alone, and a man wrestled with him until daybreak.When the man saw that He could not defeat him, He struck Jacob’s hip socket as they wrestled and dislocated his hip.Then He said to Jacob,“ Let Me go, for it is daybreak.” But Jacob said,“ I will not let You go unless You bless me.”“ What is your name?” the man asked.“ Jacob,” he replied.“ Your name will no longer be Jacob,” He said.“ It will be Israel because you have struggled with God and with men and have prevailed.”
