Many rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more,“ Son of David, have mercy on me!”

While he yet spake, they come from the ruler of the synagogue’s house, saying, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Teacher any further?

Now the woman was a Greek, a Syrophoenician by race. And she besought him that he would cast forth the demon out of her daughter.And he said unto her, Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the children’s bread and cast it to the dogs.But she answered and saith unto him, Yea, Lord; even the dogs under the table eat of the children’s crumbs.And he said unto her, For this saying go thy way; the demon is gone out of thy daughter.

Who in the days of his flesh, having offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and having been heard for his godly fear,

But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us.But he answered and said, I was not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.But she came and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.And he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread and cast it to the dogs.But she said, Yea, Lord: for even the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it done unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was healed from that hour.

And he spake a parable unto them to the end that they ought always to pray, and not to faint;saying, There was in a city a judge, who feared not God, and regarded not man:and there was a widow in that city; and she came oft unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest she wear me out by her continual coming.And the Lord said, Hear what the unrighteous judge saith.And shall not God avenge his elect, that cry to him day and night, and yet he is longsuffering over them?I say unto you, that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

with all prayer and supplication praying at all seasons in the Spirit, and watching thereunto in all perseverance and supplication for all the saints,

Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth lovingkindness; For thou renderest to every man according to his work.

And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

And they that went before rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried out the more a great deal, Thou son of David, have mercy on me.

And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day.And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob’s thigh was strained, as he wrestled with him.And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, Jacob.And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for thou hast striven with God and with men, and hast prevailed.
