慈伯德子雅谷伯若望謂耶穌曰：『夫子請允我所求。』

Then James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to him.“ Teacher,” they said,“ we want you to do for us whatever we ask.”

James and John came to Jesus. They were the sons of Zebedee.“ Teacher,” they said,“ we would like to ask you for a favor.”

And James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came up to him and said to him,“ Teacher, we want you to do for us whatever we ask of you.”

Then James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came over and spoke to him.“ Teacher,” they said,“ we want you to do us a favor.”

James and John, the sons of Zebedee, approached him and said,“ Teacher, we want you to do whatever we ask you.”

James and John, the two sons of Zebedee,* came up to Jesus, saying to Him,“ Teacher, we want You to do for us whatever we ask of You.”

Then James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to Him, saying,“ Teacher, we want You to do for us whatever we ask.”

And there come near unto him James and John, the sons of Zebedee, saying unto him, Teacher, we would that thou shouldest do for us whatsoever we shall ask of thee.

Then James and John, the sons of Zebedee, approached Him and said,“ Teacher, we want You to do something for us if we ask You.”

And James and John, the sons of Zebedee, come unto him, saying, Master, we would that thou shouldest do for us whatsoever we shall desire.

Then James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to him and said,“ Teacher, we want you to do for us whatever we ask.”

James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came near to him, saying,“ Teacher, we want you to do for us whatever we will ask.”

Then the mother of Zebedee’s sons came to Jesus with her sons and, kneeling down, asked a favor of him.“ What is it you want?” he asked. She said,“ Grant that one of these two sons of mine may sit at your right and the other at your left in your kingdom.”“ You don’t know what you are asking,” Jesus said to them.“ Can you drink the cup I am going to drink?”“ We can,” they answered.Jesus said to them,“ You will indeed drink from my cup, but to sit at my right or left is not for me to grant. These places belong to those for whom they have been prepared by my Father.”When the ten heard about this, they were indignant with the two brothers.Jesus called them together and said,“ You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them.Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant,and whoever wants to be first must be your slave—just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (niv)

“ I have one small request to make of you,” she said.“ Do not refuse me.” The king replied,“ Make it, my mother; I will not refuse you.” (niv)

When he had gone a little farther, he saw James son of Zebedee and his brother John in a boat, preparing their nets.Without delay he called them, and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired men and followed him. (niv)

He took Peter, James and John along with him, and he began to be deeply distressed and troubled. (niv)

He did not let anyone follow him except Peter, James and John the brother of James. (niv)

When the woman from Tekoa went to the king, she fell with her face to the ground to pay him honor, and she said,“ Help me, Your Majesty!”The king asked her,“ What is troubling you?” She said,“ I am a widow; my husband is dead.I your servant had two sons. They got into a fight with each other in the field, and no one was there to separate them. One struck the other and killed him.Now the whole clan has risen up against your servant; they say,‘ Hand over the one who struck his brother down, so that we may put him to death for the life of his brother whom he killed; then we will get rid of the heir as well.’ They would put out the only burning coal I have left, leaving my husband neither name nor descendant on the face of the earth.”The king said to the woman,“ Go home, and I will issue an order in your behalf.”But the woman from Tekoa said to him,“ Let my lord the king pardon me and my family, and let the king and his throne be without guilt.”The king replied,“ If anyone says anything to you, bring them to me, and they will not bother you again.”She said,“ Then let the king invoke the Lord his God to prevent the avenger of blood from adding to the destruction, so that my son will not be destroyed.”“ As surely as the Lord lives,” he said,“ not one hair of your son’s head will fall to the ground.” (niv)

After six days Jesus took Peter, James and John with him and led them up a high mountain, where they were all alone. There he was transfigured before them. (niv)
