And there come near unto him James and John, the sons of Zebedee, saying unto him, Teacher, we would that thou shouldest do for us whatsoever we shall ask of thee.

Then James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to him.“ Teacher,” they said,“ we want you to do for us whatever we ask.”

James and John came to Jesus. They were the sons of Zebedee.“ Teacher,” they said,“ we would like to ask you for a favor.”

And James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came up to him and said to him,“ Teacher, we want you to do for us whatever we ask of you.”

Then James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came over and spoke to him.“ Teacher,” they said,“ we want you to do us a favor.”

James and John, the sons of Zebedee, approached him and said,“ Teacher, we want you to do whatever we ask you.”

James and John, the two sons of Zebedee,* came up to Jesus, saying to Him,“ Teacher, we want You to do for us whatever we ask of You.”

Then James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to Him, saying,“ Teacher, we want You to do for us whatever we ask.”

Then James and John, the sons of Zebedee, approached Him and said,“ Teacher, we want You to do something for us if we ask You.”

And James and John, the sons of Zebedee, come unto him, saying, Master, we would that thou shouldest do for us whatsoever we shall desire.

Then came to him the mother of the sons of Zebedee with her sons, worshipping him, and asking a certain thing of him.And he said unto her, What wouldest thou? She saith unto him, Command that these my two sons may sit, one on thy right hand, and one on thy left hand, in thy kingdom.But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink the cup that I am about to drink? They say unto him, We are able.He saith unto them, My cup indeed ye shall drink: but to sit on my right hand, and on my left hand, is not mine to give; but it is for them for whom it hath been prepared of my Father.And when the ten heard it, they were moved with indignation concerning the two brethren.But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them.Not so shall it be among you: but whosoever would become great among you shall be your minister;and whosoever would be first among you shall be your servant:even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

Then she said, I ask one small petition of thee; deny me not. And the king said unto her, Ask on, my mother; for I will not deny thee.

And going on a little further, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in the boat mending the nets.And straightway he called them: and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired servants, and went after him.

And he taketh with him Peter and James and John, and began to be greatly amazed, and sore troubled.

And he suffered no man to follow with him, save Peter, and James, and John the brother of James.

And when the woman of Tekoa spake to the king, she fell on her face to the ground, and did obeisance, and said, Help, O king.And the king said unto her, What aileth thee? And she answered, Of a truth I am a widow, and my husband is dead.And thy handmaid had two sons, and they two strove together in the field, and there was none to part them, but the one smote the other, and killed him.And, behold, the whole family is risen against thy handmaid, and they say, Deliver him that smote his brother, that we may kill him for the life of his brother whom he slew, and so destroy the heir also. Thus will they quench my coal which is left, and will leave to my husband neither name nor remainder upon the face of the earth.And the king said unto the woman, Go to thy house, and I will give charge concerning thee.And the woman of Tekoa said unto the king, My lord, O king, the iniquity be on me, and on my father’s house; and the king and his throne be guiltless.And the king said, Whosoever saith aught unto thee, bring him to me, and he shall not touch thee any more.Then said she, I pray thee, let the king remember Jehovah thy God, that the avenger of blood destroy not any more, lest they destroy my son. And he said, As Jehovah liveth, there shall not one hair of thy son fall to the earth.

And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and John, and bringeth them up into a high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them;
