Jesus then left that place and went into the region of Judea and across the Jordan. Again crowds of people came to him, and as was his custom, he taught them.

耶稣说：“我是公开对世人讲的，我常在犹太人聚集的会堂和圣殿教导人，没有在背地里讲过什么。

他们的不信令耶稣诧异，于是祂就去周围的村庄教导人。

耶稣说完这番话，就离开加利利来到约旦河对岸的犹太地区。有一大群人跟着祂，祂就在那里医好了他们的病。有几个法利赛人到耶稣那里想试探祂，便问祂：“丈夫可以用任何理由休妻吗？”耶稣回答说：“你们没有读过吗？太初，造物主造了男人和女人，并且说，‘因此，人要离开父母，与妻子结合，二人成为一体。’这样，夫妻不再是两个人，而是一体了。因此，上帝配合的，人不可分开。”他们追问：“那么，为什么摩西说，只要给妻子休书，就可以休她呢？”耶稣说：“因为摩西知道你们铁石心肠，所以才准你们休妻。但起初并不是这样。我告诉你们，除非是妻子不贞，否则，任何人休妻另娶，就是犯通奸罪。”门徒对耶稣说：“如果夫妻关系是这样，还不如不结婚。”耶稣说：“这话不是每个人都能接受的，只有那些得到这种恩赐的人才能接受。人不结婚的原因很多，有些是因为先天的缺陷，有些是被人阉了，也有些是为了天国而自己放弃结婚的权利。谁能接受，就让他接受吧。”

耶稣用比喻教导他们许多事，在教导中祂说：

耶稣走遍加利利，在各个会堂里教导人，宣讲天国的福音，医治人们各样的疾病。

耶稣又出去到了湖边。有一大群人围拢过来，祂就教导他们。

耶稣一下船，看见这一大群人好像没有牧人的羊，心里怜悯他们，于是教导了他们许多道理。

传道者不但有智慧，还把知识传授给众人。他经过细心推敲和研究之后，编写了许多警世的箴言。

他们不是面向我而是背对我，我不厌其烦地教导他们，他们却不肯听，不受教。
