耶穌又到海邊去，眾人都到他跟前來，他就教導他們。

有一大羣人因為看見他在病人身上所行的神蹟，就跟隨他。

因為也有許多人不受約束，說空話欺哄人，尤其是那些奉割禮的人。

士兵收了銀錢，就照所囑咐他們的去做。這話就在猶太人中間流傳，直到今日。

但耶穌的名聲越發傳揚出去。有一大羣人聚集來聽道，也希望耶穌醫治他們的病。耶穌卻退到曠野去禱告。有一天，耶穌教導人，有法利賽人和律法教師在旁邊坐着；他們是從加利利各鄉村、猶太和耶路撒冷來的。主的能力與耶穌同在，使他能治好病人。

耶穌和門徒退到海邊去，有許多人從加利利跟隨他。還有許多人聽見他所做的事，就從猶太、耶路撒冷、以土買、約旦河的東邊，以及推羅和西頓的附近地方來到他那裏。

過了些日子，耶穌又進了迦百農。人聽說他在屋裏，於是許多人聚集，甚至連門前都沒有空地；耶穌就對他們講道。
