Jesus replied,“ Let us go somewhere else— to the nearby villages— so I can preach there also. That is why I have come.”

He* said to them,“ Let’s go somewhere else to the towns nearby, so that I may also preach there; for this is why I came.”

But He said to them,“ Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also, because for this purpose I have come forth.”

And he saith unto them, Let us go elsewhere into the next towns, that I may preach there also; for to this end came I forth.

And He said to them,“ Let’s go on to the neighboring villages so that I may preach there too. This is why I have come.”

And he said unto them, Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also: for therefore came I forth.

He replied,“ Let us go elsewhere, into the surrounding villages, so that I can preach there too. For that is what I came out here to do.”

He said to them,“ Let’s go elsewhere into the next towns, that I may preach there also, because I came out for this reason.”

But he replied,“ I must preach the Good News of the Kingdom of God in other towns, too, because that is why I was sent.”

“ The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free,and that the time of the Lord’s favor has come.”He rolled up the scroll, handed it back to the attendant, and sat down. All eyes in the synagogue looked at him intently.Then he began to speak to them.“ The Scripture you’ve just heard has been fulfilled this very day!”

Yes, I came from the Father into the world, and now I will leave the world and return to the Father.”

for I have passed on to them the message you gave me. They accepted it and know that I came from you, and they believe you sent me.

I brought glory to you here on earth by completing the work you gave me to do.

“ But why did you need to search?” he asked.“ Didn’t you know that I must be in my Father’s house?”

The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, for the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed.He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of the Lord’s favor has come, and with it, the day of God’s anger against their enemies.To all who mourn in Israel, he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair. In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the Lord has planted for his own glory.

We must quickly carry out the tasks assigned us by the one who sent us. The night is coming, and then no one can work.
