當這些日子、耶穌出去到上山禱告，整夜禱告上帝。

耶穌出來，照習慣往橄欖山去；門徒也跟着他。到了那地方，他就對他們說：『你們要禱告，使你們不進入試誘。』就抽身離開他們，約有扔塊石頭那麼遠，跪下禱告說，『父啊，你若願意，就把這杯撤去，然而不要我的意思得成，只要你的意思得成。』有一位天使從天上向耶穌顯現，增加他的力量。耶穌在劇烈的精神掙扎中，禱告越迫切；他的汗珠就像大血點滴落在地上。他從禱告中起來，走到門徒那裏，見他們因憂愁而睡着了，就對他們說：『你們為甚麼睡覺呢？起來禱告吧，免得入了試誘。』

耶穌卻退去，到野地裏禱告。

基督在他肉身的日子、既用壯烈的哭號和眼淚、向那能救他脫死的獻祈求和懇請，就因了虔敬而蒙垂聽；

到了天亮、耶穌出去，走到荒野地方；羣眾迫切地尋找他、直到來到他那裏、要留住他，不讓他離開他們。耶穌卻對他們說：『我必須也在別的城市傳上帝國的福音；因為我奉差遣、正是要作這事。』

基督耶穌存着甚麼意念，你們也要存着甚麼意念在你們中間。

既解散了羣眾，他就獨個兒上山去禱告。到了傍晚，他單獨一人在那裏。

永恆主啊，早晨你必聽我的聲音；早晨我必向你陳明，來企望着。

耶穌對他們說：『實行差我者的旨意、而完成他的工：這就是我的食物。

他們跟我作對頭來報我的愛；但我呢，我只是禱告。
