寢於花陰、有天使撼之、曰、起而食。見有已炙之餅、及水一瓶、在於卧側、遂飲食而復寢。耶和華之使者再至、撼之曰、將行遠途、當起而食。遂起飲食、精力頓增、行歷四旬、晝夜不息、詣上帝之山何烈、

摩西登山入雲、凡歷四旬、日夜在焉。

敬主之道、至大至妙、無不以為然、上帝假人身而顯著、稱義於聖神、見於天使、聞於異邦、信於天下、而躋光明之域、

爾既犯罪、行惡於耶和華前、以干厥怒、耶和華欲殲滅爾、我甚畏懼、仍伏其前、四旬晝夜、不食餅不飲水、耶和華允我所祈。

我聞耶和華欲殲滅爾眾、仍伏其前、歷四旬晝夜、

四旬後耶和華以盟約之二碑賜我、
