我雖隕越、必復振興、我雖居暗域、耶和華必賜光明、故予寇仇、毋庸欣喜、

我敵歟、毋因我而欣喜、我雖傾仆、仍必復起、我雖坐於昏暗、有主為我光明、

Do not gloat over me, my enemy! Though I have fallen, I will rise. Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light.

The people of Jerusalem say,“ Don’t laugh when we suffer, you enemies of ours! We have fallen. But we’ll get up. Even though we sit in the dark, the Lord will give us light.

Rejoice not over me, O my enemy; when I fall, I shall rise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord will be a light to me.

Do not gloat over me, my enemies! For though I fall, I will rise again. Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light.

Then Jesus spoke out again,“ I am the light of the world. The one who follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

( 9: 1) The people walking in darkness see a bright light; light shines on those who live in a land of deep darkness.

In the darkness a light shines for the godly, for each one who is merciful, compassionate, and just.

The LORD delivers and vindicates me! I fear no one! The LORD protects my life! I am afraid of no one!

For God, who said“ Let light shine out of darkness,” is the one who shined in our hearts to give us the light of the glorious knowledge of God in the face of Christ.

For the LORD God is our sovereign protector. The LORD bestows favor and honor; he withholds no good thing from those who have integrity.

They sat in utter darkness, bound in painful iron chains,because they had rebelled against God’s commands, and rejected the instructions of the sovereign king.So he used suffering to humble them; they stumbled and no one helped them up.They cried out to the LORD in their distress; he delivered them from their troubles.He brought them out of the utter darkness, and tore off their shackles.Let them give thanks to the LORD for his loyal love, and for the amazing things he has done for people!

“ In that day I will rebuild the collapsing hut of David. I will seal its gaps, repair its ruins, and restore it to what it was like in days gone by.

When my enemies see this, they will be covered with shame. They say to me,“ Where is the LORD your God?” I will gloat over them. Then they will be trampled down like mud in the streets.

Although a righteous person may fall seven times, he gets up again, but the wicked will be brought down by calamity.Do not rejoice when your enemy falls, and when he stumbles do not let your heart rejoice,lest the LORD see it, and be displeased, and turn his wrath away from him.

I tell you the solemn truth, you will weep and wail, but the world will rejoice; you will be sad, but your sadness will turn into joy.

You should not have gloated when your relatives suffered calamity. You should not have rejoiced over the people of Judah when they were destroyed. You should not have boasted when they suffered adversity.

But for you who respect my name, the sun of vindication will rise with healing wings, and you will skip about like calves released from the stall.

Night will be no more, and they will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, because the Lord God will shine on them, and they will reign forever and ever.

“ People of Babylonia, you plundered my people. That made you happy and glad. You frolic about like calves in a pasture. Your joyous sounds are like the neighs of a stallion.

Evil men borrow, but do not repay their debt, but the godly show compassion and are generous.

I have prayed for deliverance, because otherwise they will gloat over me; when my foot slips they will arrogantly taunt me.

The godly bask in the light; the morally upright experience joy.

As for you, O LORD, have mercy on me and raise me up, so I can pay them back!”By this I know that you are pleased with me, for my enemy does not triumph over me.As for me, you uphold me because of my integrity; you allow me permanent access to your presence.

“ Arise! Shine! For your light arrives! The splendor of the LORD shines on you!For, look, darkness covers the earth and deep darkness covers the nations, but the LORD shines on you; his splendor appears over you.Nations come to your light, kings to your bright light.

If I have rejoiced over the misfortune of my enemy or exulted because calamity found him–

As you rejoiced over the inheritance of the house of Israel because it was desolate, so will I deal with you– you will be desolate, Mount Seir, and all of Edom– all of it! Then they will know that I am the LORD.’”

For this is what the sovereign LORD says: Because you clapped your hands, stamped your feet, and rejoiced with intense scorn over the land of Israel,

Even if he trips, he will not fall headlong, for the LORD holds his hand.

Do not let those who are my enemies for no reason gloat over me! Do not let those who hate me without cause carry out their wicked schemes!

Rejoice and be glad for now, O people of Edom, who reside in the land of Uz. But the cup of judgment will pass to you also; you will get drunk and take off your clothes.ת( Tav)O people of Zion, your punishment will come to an end; he will not prolong your exile. But, O people of Edom, he will punish your sin and reveal your offenses!

to open their eyes so that they turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a share among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’

You will say to the prisoners,‘ Come out,’ and to those who are in dark dungeons,‘ Emerge.’ They will graze beside the roads; on all the slopes they will find pasture.

The sun will no longer supply light for you by day, nor will the moon’s brightness shine on you; the LORD will be your permanent source of light– the splendor of your God will shine upon you.Your sun will no longer set; your moon will not disappear; the LORD will be your permanent source of light; your time of sorrow will be over.

Vindicate me by your justice, O LORD my God! Do not let them gloat over me!Do not let them say to themselves,“ Aha! We have what we wanted!” Do not let them say,“ We have devoured him!”May those who want to harm me be totally embarrassed and ashamed! May those who arrogantly taunt me be covered with shame and humiliation!

But when I stumbled, they rejoiced and gathered together; they gathered together to ambush me. They tore at me without stopping to rest.When I tripped, they taunted me relentlessly, and tried to bite me.

Then my enemy will say,“ I have defeated him!” Then my foes will rejoice because I am upended.But I trust in your faithfulness. May I rejoice because of your deliverance!I will sing praises to the LORD when he vindicates me.

O descendants of Jacob, come, let us walk in the LORD’s guiding light.

the people who sit in darkness have seen a great light,and on those who sit in the region and shadow of death a light has dawned.”

And those who live on the earth will rejoice over them and celebrate, even sending gifts to each other, because these two prophets had tormented those who live on the earth.But after three and a half days a breath of life from God entered them, and they stood on their feet, and tremendous fear seized those who were watching them.Then they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them:“ Come up here!” So the two prophets went up to heaven in a cloud while their enemies stared at them.

Because of our God’s tender mercy the dawn will break upon us from on highto give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.”

The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, because the glory of God lights it up, and its lamp is the Lamb.

Who among you fears the LORD? Who obeys his servant? Whoever walks in deep darkness, without light, should trust in the name of the LORD and rely on his God.
