For a son dishonors his father, a daughter rises up against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law— a man’s enemies are the members of his own household.

Sons don’t honor their fathers. Daughters refuse to obey their mothers. Daughters- in- law are against their mothers- in- law. A man’s enemies are the members of his own family.

for the son treats the father with contempt, the daughter rises up against her mother, the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; a man’s enemies are the men of his own house.

For the son despises his father. The daughter defies her mother. The daughter in law defies her mother in law. Your enemies are right in your own household!

Surely a son considers his father a fool, a daughter opposes her mother, and a daughter-in-law is against her mother-in-law; a man’s enemies are the men of his own household.

For son disavows father, Daughter rises up against her mother, Daughter in law against her mother in law; A person’s enemies are the people of his own household.

曾與你結盟的，都把你送到邊界；本來與你友好的，卻欺騙你，勝過你；與你同席的（“與你同席的”或譯：“吃你的食物的”），在你腳下暗設網羅，你卻毫不曉得。

嘲笑父親，藐視年老母親的，他的眼必被谷中的烏鴉啄出來，給雛鷹所吃。

連我信任的密友，就是那吃我飯的，也用腳踢我。

迦南的父親含看見了自己父親的下體，就去告訴在外面的兩個兄弟。於是，閃和雅弗二人拿了件外衣，搭在自己的肩膀上，倒退著進去，蓋上他們父親的下體；因為他們背著臉，所以沒有看見他們父親的下體。挪亞酒醒以後，知道小兒子對他所作的事，

因為連你的兄弟、你的父家，都以詭詐待你，連他們也在你後面高聲喊叫。雖然他們對你說好話，你也不可信他們。”

有一種人（“有一種人”直譯是“有一世代”）咒詛父親，又不給母親祝福。

大衛又對亞比篩和他所有的臣僕說：“看哪！連我親生的兒子尚且尋索我的命，何況這便雅憫人呢？由他去吧，由他咒罵吧！因為這是耶和華吩咐他的。

亞希多弗對押沙龍說：“你去與你父親留下來看守王宮的那些妃嬪親近，這樣以色列眾人聽見你與你父親已經完全決裂，所有跟隨你的人的手就都更堅強了。”於是有人為押沙龍在王宮的平頂上搭了一座帳棚，押沙龍就在以色列眾人眼前與他父親的妃嬪親近。那時，亞希多弗所出的策略，好像是人求問神得來的話一樣。亞希多弗為大衛，或為押沙龍所出的策略都是這樣。

押沙龍派遣探子到以色列的各支派中，說：“你們一聽見號角的聲音，就說：‘押沙龍在希伯崙作王了！’”有二百人從耶路撒冷應邀與押沙龍同去。他們都是誠誠實實地去，對內情一點也不知道。押沙龍獻祭的時候，差派人去把大衛的參謀基羅人亞希多弗從他的本城基羅請來。於是叛亂的勢力越來越大，跟隨押沙龍的人民也越來越多。

原來不是仇敵辱罵我，如果是仇敵，我還可以忍受；也不是恨我的人向我狂妄自大，如果是恨我的人，我還可以躲避他。但你是和我同等地位的人，是我的良友，我的知己。我們常在一起密談，我們在神的殿中與群眾同行。

他回答：“那和我一同把手蘸在盤子裡的人，他要出賣我。

你們也會被父母、弟兄、親戚、朋友出賣，他們又要害死你們一些人。
