彼所為善者、等諸蒺藜、彼所為義者、同於荊棘、先知所言之災、其日伊邇、庶民潰亂、

彼所謂善者、等諸荊棘、彼所謂正者、同於蒺藜、或作彼之最善義者惟如荊棘彼之最正直者但如蒺藜爾中先知所言之日、即爾受罰之日速至、是時眾俱荒亂、

The best of them is like a brier, the most upright worse than a thorn hedge. The day God visits you has come, the day your watchmen sound the alarm. Now is the time of your confusion.

The best of these people are as harmful as thorns. The most honest of them are even worse. God has come to punish you. The time your prophets warned you about has come. Panic has taken hold of you.

因為主－萬軍之耶和華使「異象谷」有潰亂、踐踏、煩擾的日子。城被攻破，哀聲達到山間。

人子啊，雖有荊棘和蒺藜在你那裏，你又住在蠍子中間，總不要怕他們，也不要怕他們的話；他們雖是悖逆之家，還不要怕他們的話，也不要因他們的臉色驚惶。

但匪類都必像荊棘被丟棄；人不敢用手拿它；拿它的人必帶鐵器和槍桿，終久它必被火焚燒。

到降罰的日子，有災禍從遠方臨到，那時，你們怎樣行呢？你們向誰逃奔求救呢？你們的榮耀存留何處呢？

你要告訴他們說：『主耶和華如此說：我必使這俗語止息，以色列中不再用這俗語。』你卻要對他們說：『日子臨近，一切的異象必都應驗。』從此，在以色列家中必不再有虛假的異象和奉承的占卜。

他們行可憎的事知道慚愧嗎？不然，他們毫不慚愧，也不知羞恥。因此他們必在仆倒的人中仆倒；我向他們討罪的時候，他們必致跌倒。這是耶和華說的。

松樹長出，代替荊棘；番石榴長出，代替蒺藜。這要為耶和華留名，作為永遠的證據，不能剪除。

都是虛無的，是迷惑人的工作；到追討的時候必被除滅。

「日、月、星辰要顯出異兆，地上的邦國也有困苦；因海中波浪的響聲，就慌慌不定。

以色列人必知道降罰的日子臨近，報應的時候來到。民說：作先知的是愚昧；受靈感的是狂妄，皆因他們多多作孽，大懷怨恨。以法蓮曾作我神守望的；至於先知，在他一切的道上作為捕鳥人的網羅，在他神的家中懷怨恨。

他說：「阿摩司啊，你看見甚麼？」我說：「看見一筐夏天的果子。」耶和華說：「我民以色列的結局到了，我必不再寬恕他們。」

你們像叢雜的荊棘，像喝醉了的人，又如枯乾的碎稭全然燒滅。

若長荊棘和蒺藜，必被廢棄，近於咒詛，結局就是焚燒。
