Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams, with ten thousand rivers of olive oil? Shall I offer my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?

Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams? Will he take delight in 10,000 rivers of olive oil? Should we offer our oldest sons for the wrong things we’ve done? Should we sacrifice our own children to pay for our sins?”

從以色列諸王所為、昔主於以色列人前、所逐異族之民行可憎之事、今亞哈斯效彼所行、焚獻其子、焚獻其子原文作使其子過於火

我不從爾家取牡牛、亦不從爾牢取牡羊、

撒母耳曰、主豈悅火焚祭平安祭、不悅人聽從主命乎、聽命勝於獻祭、順從勝於牡羊脂、

在便欣嫩谷築陀斐特邱壇、以火焚獻子女、此非我所命、未起此意於心、

焚獻其子、原文作使其子過於火又占卜、用邪術、設立交鬼者及巫覡、多行惡於主前、干犯主怒、

約西亞亦污便欣嫩谷之陀法、免人在彼以子女焚獻摩洛、

主不欲祭物、欲則我必獻之、火焚祭亦非主喜悅、

利巴嫩林為柴不足、其中百獸、獻為火焚祭亦不足、

我所悅者、乃仁義、並非祭祀、識天主之道、勝於火焚祭、識天主之道勝於火焚祭或作識天主勝於獻火焚祭

遂將當繼位之長子、在城上獻為火焚祭、以色列人遭此痛恨、或作以色列人俱懷大怒於是三王離摩押王各返故土、

毋以子女焚獻摩洛、毋瀆爾天主之名、我乃主、

爾獻火焚祭與素祭、我不悅納、爾用肥牲、獻為平安祭、我不垂顧、

萬有之主以色列之天主如是云、爾之火焚祭、爾可自食其肉、與他祭品他祭品或作平安祭下同無異、昔我導爾列祖出伊及時、我未嘗命之獻火焚祭與他祭品、

我遣之歸、彼乃我心所切愛者、望爾納之、

為巴力築邱壇、以火焚子、獻於巴力為火焚祭、此非我所命、非我所諭、此意未起於我心、

主云、爾獻多祭、與我何益、以牡綿羊獻為火焚祭、及肥畜之脂、為我所厭、牛血、羔血、牡山羊之血、非我所悅、爾來覲我、誰索此於爾、爾惟踐踏我之院宇、毋復獻無益之祭、馨香馨香或作焚香我甚憎之、月朔、安息日、大會之日、我所厭棄、守節期、又復行惡、我所不容、爾之朔日、節期、我心厭惡、我視若重負、難再容忍、爾舉手禱告、我掩目不顧、爾雖多祈禱、我不俯聽、因爾殺無辜、手滿血跡、

又以爾為我所生之子女、殺之獻於偶像為祭、祭原文作食爾行淫、已非小事、更殺我子女、獻於偶像、焚之以火、焚之以火原文作使之過火

乳多足以濯足、磐為我出油成河、

則我攻亞捫人後、安然旋歸時、凡出我家門迓我者必歸主、我必獻為火焚祭、

伏在鄉里、暗中殺害無辜、以目窺伺困苦之人、暗中潛伏、如獅在洞穴、潛伏以擄掠窮人、窮人陷其網中、遂擄掠之、屈身蹲伏、以俟困苦人陷其強暴之計、心中以為天主忘卻、遮掩面目、永不觀察、求主興起、求天主大顯威能、莫忘窮人、惡人因何輕慢主、彼心中以為主不尋究、

兩月既滿、女歸父家、父循所許之願行於女、女童身未與男近、此後以色列人有常例、

彼行淫、手有血跡、與偶像行淫、將為我所生之子、焚之以火、焚之以火原文作使之過火獻於偶像為祭、祭原文作食
