Listen, you mountains, to the indictment by the Lord, And you enduring foundations of the earth, Because the Lord has a case against His people; And He will dispute with Israel.

諸山及永固之地基歟、其聽耶和華之爭辯、蓋耶和華有爭論於其民、必與以色列爭辯、

耶和華將斥責其民以色列族、舉凡山巖岡嶺、地之四維、尚其聽之哉。

惟爾山嶺、與永固之地基、俱當聽主所辯論之言、主將與己民辯論、將指責以色列、

“ Hear, you mountains, the Lord’s accusation; listen, you everlasting foundations of the earth. For the Lord has a case against his people; he is lodging a charge against Israel.

Hear the Lord’ s case, you mountains. Listen, you age- old foundations of the earth. The Lord has a case against his people Israel. He is bringing charges against them.

Hear, you mountains, the indictment of the Lord, and you enduring foundations of the earth, for the Lord has an indictment against his people, and he will contend with Israel.

And now, O mountains, listen to the Lord’s complaint! He has a case against his people. He will bring charges against Israel.

Listen to the LORD’s lawsuit, you mountains and enduring foundations of the earth, because the LORD has a case against his people, and he will argue it against Israel.

Hear, O you mountains, the LORD’s complaint, And you strong foundations of the earth; For the Lord has a complaint against His people, And He will contend with Israel.

Hear, O ye mountains, Jehovah’s controversy, and ye enduring foundations of the earth; for Jehovah hath a controversy with his people, and he will contend with Israel.

Listen to the Lord’s lawsuit, you mountains and enduring foundations of the earth, because the Lord has a case against His people, and He will argue it against Israel.

Listen to the word of the Lord, you sons of Israel, Because the Lord has a case against the inhabitants of the land, For there is no faithfulness, nor loyalty, Nor knowledge of God in the land.

The Lord also has a case against Judah, And will punish Jacob according to his ways; He will repay him according to his deeds.

“ Come now, and let us debate your case,” Says the Lord,“ Though your sins are as scarlet, They shall become as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be like wool.

Then the channels of the sea appeared, The foundations of the world were exposed By the rebuke of the Lord, From the blast of the breath of His nostrils.

He established the earth upon its foundations, So that it will not totter forever and ever.

“ Therefore I will still contend with you,” declares the Lord,“ And I will contend with your sons’ sons.

and I will bring you into the wilderness of the peoples, and there I will enter into judgment with you face to face.Just as I entered into judgment with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so I will enter into judgment with you,” declares the Lord God.

When He set a boundary for the sea So that the water would not violate His command, When He marked out the foundations of the earth;

For a fire has flared in My anger, And it burns to the lowest part of Sheol, And devours the earth with its yield, And sets on fire the foundations of the mountains.

Meet Me in court, let’s argue our case together; State your cause, so that you may be proved right.

“ Why do you contend with Me? You have all revolted against Me,” declares the Lord.“ In vain I have struck your sons; They did not accept discipline. Your sword has devoured your prophets Like a destroying lion.You generation, look to the word of the Lord. Have I been a wilderness to Israel, Or a land of thick darkness? Why do My people say,‘ We are free to roam; We will no longer come to You’?Can a virgin forget her jewelry, Or a bride her attire? Yet My people have forgotten Me For days without number.How well you prepare your way To seek love! Therefore even to the wicked women You have taught your ways.Also on your skirts is found The lifeblood of the innocent poor; You did not find them breaking in. But in spite of all these things,You said,‘ I am innocent; Surely His anger is turned away from me.’ Behold, I will enter into judgment with you Because you say,‘ I have not sinned.’

“ And now, you inhabitants of Jerusalem and people of Judah, Judge between Me and My vineyard.

Then the earth shook and quaked, The foundations of heaven were trembling And were shaken, because He was angry.

This is what the Lord says:“ If the heavens above can be measured And the foundations of the earth searched out below, Then I will also reject all the descendants of Israel For everything that they have done,” declares the Lord.

A clamor has come to the end of the earth, Because the Lord has a controversy with the nations. He is entering into judgment with humanity; As for the wicked, He has turned them over to the sword,’ declares the Lord.”
