爾雖欲食、不得果腹、蓋此饑饉、必在邑中爾雖欲遷、不能免難、蓋即遁逃、必蹈鋒刃、

You will eat but not be satisfied; your stomach will still be empty. You will store up but save nothing, because what you save I will give to the sword.

You will eat. But you will not be satisfied. Your stomachs will still be empty. You will try to save what you can. But you will not be able to. If you do save something, it will be destroyed in battle.

人若手攬本家之兄弟曰、爾尚有衣、可為我長、此亂可歸爾手治理、時、其人答答或作發誓曰、我不能為治者、我家無衣無食、毋立我為民長、耶路撒冷顛蹶、猶大傾仆、因所言所行悖逆主、犯主之榮威、

緣此主天主如是云、我僕得食、惟爾饑餓、我僕得飲、惟爾煩渴、我僕喜樂、惟爾愧怍、

牲畜負物往南方、經艱難險阻之地、或作論南方之獸有預言曰彼經艱難險阻之地其中有牝獅、猛獅、又有毒蛇、飛蛇、以其貨財載於驢背、以其寶物負於駝峰、攜至不能益己之國、

疾趨者不得脫逃、強壯者不得施力、英武者英武者或作勇士不能自救、執弓者不能立、捷足者不能避難、乘馬者不能自救、當是時壯士中最有膽者、必裸而逃、此乃主所言、

右奪仍饑、左吞不飽、人自食己臂之肉、
