You will eat but not be satisfied; your stomach will still be empty. You will store up but save nothing, because what you save I will give to the sword.

You will eat. But you will not be satisfied. Your stomachs will still be empty. You will try to save what you can. But you will not be able to. If you do save something, it will be destroyed in battle.

地上居民歟、驚駭坎阱機檻、悉臨於爾、逃於驚駭之聲者、必陷於坎阱、出於坎阱者、必罹於機檻、蓋天啟其牖、地震其基、地盡破壞、地悉崩裂、地大震撼、若醉人之蹁躚、如懸榻之動搖、負咎甚重、必遭傾覆、而不復起、○

或在父家持其兄弟曰、爾有衣、可為我長、此傾覆者、歸爾掌握、維時、其人揚聲言曰、我不為醫、我家無糧無衣、不可立我為民長也、耶路撒冷頹敗、猶大傾覆、因其所言所行、逆耶和華、觸厥威榮之目、

主耶和華曰、我僕必得食、惟爾飢餓、我僕必得飲、惟爾煩渴、我僕懽忭、惟爾愧怍、

論南方牲畜之預示、○經歷艱難困苦之域、其地出牝獅牡獅、蝮蛇飛火蛇、載其輜重於驢背、負其貨財於駝峯、以饋不能益己之民、

疾趨者不得避所、強壯者不得施力、剛勇者不能自救、執弓者不得屹立、捷足者不得脫逃、乘馬者不能自救、是日也、壯士中之勇敢者、必裸而遁、耶和華言之矣、

有奪於右者而仍飢、有食於左者而不飽、各齧己臂之肉、

蓋我怒如火燎、燒及陰府、焚燬大地、暨其出產、燃彼山基、我將以災積於其身、以我之矢、射之務盡、使其因饑而瘦、因熱而敗、因苦而滅、害於獸齒、傷於蟲毒、外遭鋒刃、內受驚惶、少男幼女、乳子白叟、淪胥以亡、

爾播多而穫少、食不得飽、飲不得足、衣不得暖、傭獲其值、盛於敝囊、

逃於驚駭者、必陷於坎阱、出於坎阱者、必罹於機檻、蓋我必使懲罰摩押之年臨之、耶和華言之矣、

歷時如是之久、人至穀堆、冀得二十、僅得其十、人至酒油、望得五十、僅得二十、

我見主立於壇側曰、擊柱頂以震門閾、俾其折碎、墮於眾首、我必以刃戮其遺民、無一能逃、無一得避、彼雖穿穴入於陰府、我手必取之、雖攀至高天、我必降之、雖匿於迦密之巔、我必搜而出之、雖避我目、藏於海底、我必命蛇齧之、雖被虜於敵前、我必命刃殺之、我注目視之、乃為殃、非為祥也、
