爾雖欲食、不得果腹、蓋此饑饉、必在邑中爾雖欲遷、不能免難、蓋即遁逃、必蹈鋒刃、

爾雖食、不得飽、身恆饑餓、爾所遷移以避難、不能救護、即有所救護、我必使之為刃所殺、

You will eat but not be satisfied; your stomach will still be empty. You will store up but save nothing, because what you save I will give to the sword.

You will eat. But you will not be satisfied. Your stomachs will still be empty. You will try to save what you can. But you will not be able to. If you do save something, it will be destroyed in battle.

You shall eat, but not be satisfied, and there shall be hunger within you; you shall put away, but not preserve, and what you preserve I will give to the sword.

You will eat but never have enough. Your hunger pangs and emptiness will remain. And though you try to save your money, it will come to nothing in the end. You will save a little, but I will give it to those who conquer you.

使你們吃卻不得飽足，行淫卻不得後代。因為你們背棄耶和華，

我要斷絕你們的糧源。那時候，十個婦女將用一個烤爐烤餅，按定量分餅給你們，你們吃卻吃不飽。

又說：「人子啊，我要斷絕耶路撒冷的糧源，叫他們焦慮地吃限量的餅，恐懼地喝限量的水。他們必缺糧少水，絕望地面面相覷，因自己的罪惡而滅亡。」

你們三分之一的人要死於饑荒瘟疫，三分之一的人要死於刀下，我必把其餘的三分之一分散到各地各方，並拔刀追殺他們。

世人啊！恐怖、陷阱和網羅要臨到你們。逃避恐怖的必掉進陷阱，從陷阱爬上來的必被網羅纏住。天上的水閘開啟，大地的根基搖動。大地斷裂、崩潰，劇烈震動。大地像醉漢東搖西晃，又像暴風中的茅屋搖來擺去。它被沉重的罪惡壓垮，再也無法起來。

那時，人會拉住一位同族的弟兄說：「你至少還有件像樣的衣服，你就做我們的首領吧，這廢墟之地就交給你了！」但那人必高聲說：「我救不了你們。我家中無衣無食，不要讓我做首領。」耶路撒冷必崩潰，猶大必敗落，因為他們的言行冒犯耶和華，蔑視榮耀的主。

所以主耶和華說：「看啊，我的僕人必有吃有喝，你們卻要饑渴交加；我的僕人必歡喜，你們卻要受羞辱；

以下是關於南地動物的預言：他們的使臣用驢馱著財物，用駱駝馱著珍寶，穿過公獅、母獅、蝮蛇和飛蛇出沒的艱險之地，前往一個對他們毫無用處的國家。

快捷的無法逃遁，強壯的無力可施，勇猛的救不了自己，拉弓的站立不住，腿快的無法逃脫，騎馬的救不了自己。到那日，最勇猛的戰士也要丟盔棄甲，倉皇逃命。這是耶和華說的。

他們到處搶奪食物，仍饑餓難忍，甚至吃自己的骨肉。

我的怒火已經點燃，要燒到陰間的盡頭，吞滅大地及其出產，甚至燒毀山的根基。「『我要使災禍連連臨到他們，我的箭都射向他們。他們必飽受饑荒之苦，被瘟疫和災禍吞噬，被猛獸和毒蛇襲擊。外有刀劍殺戮，內有恐懼籠罩，少男、少女、嬰兒、老人無一倖免。

你們種多收少，吃不飽，喝不足，穿不暖，掙來的工錢卻放在漏口袋中。」

逃過驚恐的必落入深坑，爬出深坑的必陷入網羅，因為我懲罰摩押的時候到了。這是耶和華說的。

那時，有人盼望得到二十斗穀物，卻只有十斗。有人盼望得到五十桶酒，榨酒池中卻只有二十桶。

我看見主站在祭壇旁，祂說：「要擊打柱頂，使殿的根基震動；要打碎柱頂，使殿宇坍塌壓死眾人。僥倖生還的，我要用刀劍殺掉，沒有一個能逃脫，沒有一個能倖免。即使他們挖洞鑽進陰間，我也要把他們揪出來；即使他們爬上高天，我也要把他們拉下來；即使他們藏在迦密山的峰頂，我也要去搜尋，捉住他們；即使他們潛到海底，我也要派海蛇去吞咬他們；即使他們被敵人擄去，我也要命刀劍追殺他們。我要定睛在他們身上，不是要賜福而是要降禍。」
