彼將以刃毀亞述地、及甯錄地之關、亞述人入我地、踐我境時、彼必救我、

亞述人侵伐我地、蹂躪我境、彼必以鋒刃攻亞述之國、寧綠之境、以免我民於患難。

必以鋒刃攻亞述地、以戈矛伐寧綠國、亞述人如入我地、履我境、彼必救我脫於其難、

who will rule the land of Assyria with the sword, the land of Nimrod with drawn sword. He will deliver us from the Assyrians when they invade our land and march across our borders.

They will use their swords to rule over Assyria. They’ll rule the land of Nimrod with swords that are ready to strike. The Assyrians will march across our borders and attack our land. But the promised ruler will save us from them.

they shall shepherd the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod at its entrances; and he shall deliver us from the Assyrian when he comes into our land and treads within our border.

They will rule Assyria with drawn swords and enter the gates of the land of Nimrod. He will rescue us from the Assyrians when they pour over the borders to invade our land.

在以色列王比加的日子，亞述王提革拉‧毗列色來奪取以雲、亞伯‧伯‧瑪迦、亞挪、基低斯、夏瑣、基列、加利利和拿弗他利全地，把這些地方的居民都擄到亞述去了。

「所以耶和華論亞述王如此說：他必不得來到這城，也不在這裏射箭，不得拿盾牌到城前，也不建土堆攻城。他從哪條路來，必從那條路回去，必不得來到這城。這是耶和華說的。因我為自己的緣故，又為我僕人大衛的緣故，必保護拯救這城。」當夜，耶和華的使者出去，在亞述營中殺了十八萬五千人。清早有人起來，看哪，都是死屍。

希西家王第四年，也就是以拉的兒子以色列王何細亞第七年，亞述王撒縵以色上來圍困撒瑪利亞。過了三年，他們攻取了城。希西家第六年，以色列王何細亞第九年，撒瑪利亞被攻取了。亞述王把以色列人擄到亞述，安置在哈臘與歌散的哈博河邊，以及瑪代人的城鎮。這是因為他們不聽從耶和華－他們的上帝的話，違背了他的約；他們既不聽從，也不遵行耶和華僕人摩西一切所吩咐的。希西家王十四年，亞述王西拿基立上來攻擊猶大的一切堅固的城，將城攻取。猶大王希西家派人到拉吉，亞述王那裏，說：「我錯了，求你撤退離開我；凡你罰我的，我必承當。」於是亞述王罰猶大王希西家三百他連得銀子，三十他連得金子。希西家把耶和華殿裏和王宮府庫裏所有的銀子都給了他。

獅子的洞，幼獅餵養之處在哪裏呢？公獅、母獅、小獅出入，無人使牠們驚嚇之地在哪裏呢？公獅撕碎的足夠給幼獅吃，又為母獅掐死獵物，把獵物塞滿牠的洞穴，把撕碎的裝滿牠的窩。看哪，我與你為敵，將它的戰車焚燒成煙，刀劍必吞滅你的少壯獅子；我必從地上除滅你的獵物，你使者的聲音必不再聽見。這是萬軍之耶和華說的。禍哉！這流人血的城，欺詐連連，搶奪充斥，擄掠的事總不止息。鞭聲響亮，車輪轟轟，馬匹跳躍，戰車奔騰；騎兵爭先，刀劍發光，槍矛閃爍，被殺的甚多，屍首成堆，屍骸無數，人因屍骸而絆跌，

『他拯救我們脫離仇敵，脫離一切恨我們之人的手。

外邦人要將他們帶回本地。以色列家必在耶和華的地上得外邦人為僕婢，也要擄掠先前擄掠他們的，轄制先前欺壓他們的。

亞述王撒縵以色上來攻擊何細亞，何細亞就服事他，向他進貢。何細亞背叛，派使者到埃及王梭那裏，不照往年所行的向亞述王進貢。亞述王知道了，就逮捕他，把他囚在監裏。亞述王上來攻擊以色列全地，上到撒瑪利亞，圍困這城三年。

禍哉！你這未遭毀滅而毀滅人的人，人未以詭詐待你而你以詭詐待人的人！等你行完了毀滅，自己必被毀滅；你行完了詭詐，人必以詭詐待你。

所以耶和華使亞述王的將領來攻擊他們，用手銬銬住瑪拿西，用銅鏈鎖住他，把他帶到巴比倫去。

叫我們既從仇敵手中被救出來，就可以終身在他面前，無所懼怕地用聖潔和公義事奉他。

禍哉！亞述，我怒氣的棍！他們手中的杖是我的惱恨。我要差遣他攻擊褻瀆的國，吩咐他對付我所惱怒的民，搶走擄物，奪取掠物，將他們踐踏，如同街上的泥土一般。然而，這並非他的意念，他的心不是這樣打算；他的心要摧毀，要剪除不少的國家。他說：「我的官長豈不都是君王嗎？迦勒挪豈不像迦基米施嗎？哈馬豈不像亞珥拔嗎？撒瑪利亞豈不像大馬士革嗎？既然我的手已伸到了這些有偶像的國，他們所雕刻的偶像過於耶路撒冷和撒瑪利亞的偶像，我豈不照樣待耶路撒冷和其中的偶像，如同我待撒瑪利亞和其中的偶像嗎？」主在錫安山和耶路撒冷成就他一切工作的時候，說：「我必懲罰亞述王自大的心和他高傲尊貴的眼目。」

耶和華要伸手攻擊北方，毀滅亞述，使尼尼微荒涼，乾旱如同曠野。
