And the king of Assyria appointed unto Hezekiah king of Judah three hundred talents of silver and thirty talents of gold.And Hezekiah gave[ him] all the silver that was found in the house of the LORD, and in the treasures of the king’s house.

Where[ is] the dwelling of the lions, and the feedingplace of the young lions, where the lion,[ even] the old lion, walked,[ and] the lion’s whelp, and none made[ them] afraid?The lion did tear in pieces enough for his whelps, and strangled for his lionesses, and filled his holes with prey, and his dens with ravin.Behold, I[ am] against thee, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will burn her chariots in the smoke, and the sword shall devour thy young lions: and I will cut off thy prey from the earth, and the voice of thy messengers shall no more be heard.Woe to the bloody city! it[ is] all full of lies[ and] robbery; the prey departeth not;The noise of a whip, and the noise of the rattling of the wheels, and of the pransing horses, and of the jumping chariots.The horseman lifteth up both the bright sword and the glittering spear: and[ there is] a multitude of slain, and a great number of carcases; and[ there is] none end of[ their] corpses; they stumble upon their corpses:

That we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us;

And the people shall take them, and bring them to their place: and the house of Israel shall possess them in the land of the LORD for servants and handmaids: and they shall take them captives, whose captives they were; and they shall rule over their oppressors.

Against him came up Shalmaneser king of Assyria; and Hoshea became his servant, and gave him presents.And the king of Assyria found conspiracy in Hoshea: for he had sent messengers to So king of Egypt, and brought no present to the king of Assyria, as[ he had done] year by year: therefore the king of Assyria shut him up, and bound him in prison.Then the king of Assyria came up throughout all the land, and went up to Samaria, and besieged it three years.

Woe to thee that spoilest, and thou[ wast] not spoiled; and dealest treacherously, and they dealt not treacherously with thee! when thou shalt cease to spoil, thou shalt be spoiled;[ and] when thou shalt make an end to deal treacherously, they shall deal treacherously with thee.

Wherefore the LORD brought upon them the captains of the host of the king of Assyria, which took Manasseh among the thorns, and bound him with fetters, and carried him to Babylon.

That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear,

O Assyrian, the rod of mine anger, and the staff in their hand is mine indignation.I will send him against an hypocritical nation, and against the people of my wrath will I give him a charge, to take the spoil, and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets.Howbeit he meaneth not so, neither doth his heart think so; but[ it is] in his heart to destroy and cut off nations not a few.For he saith,[ Are] not my princes altogether kings?[ Is] not Calno as Carchemish?[ is] not Hamath as Arpad?[ is] not Samaria as Damascus?As my hand hath found the kingdoms of the idols, and whose graven images did excel them of Jerusalem and of Samaria;Shall I not, as I have done unto Samaria and her idols, so do to Jerusalem and her idols?Wherefore it shall come to pass,[ that] when the Lord hath performed his whole work upon mount Zion and on Jerusalem, I will punish the fruit of the stout heart of the king of Assyria, and the glory of his high looks.

And he will stretch out his hand against the north, and destroy Assyria; and will make Nineveh a desolation,[ and] dry like a wilderness.
