现在你为何大声哭喊？是因为你没有王吗？难道你的谋士都死了吗，以致你像分娩的妇人一样痛苦不堪？

现在你为什么大声呼喊？难道你们中间没有君王吗？或是你的谋士灭亡了，以致疼痛抓紧你，好像临产的妇人呢？

現在你為何大聲哭號呢？疼痛抓住你彷彿產難的婦人，是因你中間沒有君王嗎？你的謀士滅亡了嗎？

現在，你為何大聲呼喊呢？你中間沒有君王，你的謀士滅絕，以致疼痛抓住你，如臨產的婦人嗎？

現在你為甚麼大聲呼喊？難道你們中間沒有君王嗎？或是你的謀士滅亡了，以致疼痛抓緊你，好像臨產的婦人呢？

如今呢、你為甚麼大聲哭號呢？難道你中間竟沒有王，或是你的謀士都滅亡了，以致產痛抓住了你、像抓住了生產的婦人麼？

今爾何為號呼、爾中無王、爾之謀士隕沒、致爾痛苦、若臨產之婦乎、

爾今何為號呼、若婦將產、艱難勞苦、爾中豈無王公、爾之謀臣、豈盡殞亡、

今爾何為號呼、爾竟若劬勞之產婦、爾竟若劬勞之產婦或作爾竟如婦臨產艱難痛苦爾中豈無君乎、爾之謀士豈盡亡乎、

Why do you now cry aloud— have you no king? Has your ruler perished, that pain seizes you like that of a woman in labor?

Why are you crying out so loudly now? Don’t you have a king? Has your ruler died? Is that why pain comes on you like the pain of a woman having a baby?

Now why do you cry aloud? Is there no king in you? Has your counselor perished, that pain seized you like a woman in labor?

But why are you now screaming in terror? Have you no king to lead you? Have your wise people all died? Pain has gripped you like a woman in childbirth.

Now, why are you shouting loudly? Is there no king with you? Has your counselor perished so that anguish grips you like a woman in labor?

“ Now, why do you cry out loudly? Is there no king among you, Or has your counselor perished, That agony has gripped you like a woman in childbirth?

Now why do you cry aloud? Is there no king in your midst? Has your counselor perished? For pangs have seized you like a woman in labor.

Now why dost thou cry out aloud? Is there no king in thee, is thy counsellor perished, that pangs have taken hold of thee as of a woman in travail?

Now, why are you shouting loudly? Is there no king with you? Has your counselor perished so that anguish grips you like a woman in labor?

Now why dost thou cry out aloud?[ is there] no king in thee? is thy counsellor perished? for pangs have taken thee as a woman in travail.

Jerusalem, why are you now shouting so loudly? Has your king disappeared? Has your wise leader been destroyed? Is this why pain grips you as if you were a woman in labor?

Behold, the voice of the cry of the daughter of my people from a land that is very far off:“ Isn’t Yahweh in Zion? Isn’t her King in her?”“ Why have they provoked me to anger with their engraved images, and with foreign idols?”

For, behold, the Lord, Yahweh of Armies, takes away from Jerusalem and from Judah supply and support, the whole supply of bread, and the whole supply of water;the mighty man, the man of war, the judge, the prophet, the diviner, the elder,the captain of fifty, the honorable man, the counselor, the skilled craftsman, and the clever enchanter.I will give boys to be their princes, and children shall rule over them.The people will be oppressed, everyone by another, and everyone by his neighbor. The child will behave himself proudly against the old man, and the wicked against the honorable.Indeed a man shall take hold of his brother in the house of his father, saying,“ You have clothing, you be our ruler, and let this ruin be under your hand.”In that day he will cry out, saying,“ I will not be a healer; for in my house is neither bread nor clothing. You shall not make me ruler of the people.”

They will be dismayed. Pangs and sorrows will seize them. They will be in pain like a woman in labor. They will look in amazement one at another. Their faces will be faces of flame.

Just as a woman with child, who draws near the time of her delivery, is in pain and cries out in her pangs, so we have been before you, Yahweh.

For the children of Israel shall live many days without king, and without prince, and without sacrifice, and without sacred stone, and without ephod or idols.

The breath of our nostrils, the anointed of Yahweh, was taken in their pits; of whom we said, under his shadow we will live among the nations.

Ask now, and see whether a man travails with child. Why do I see every man with his hands on his waist, as a woman in travail, and all faces are turned pale?Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it. It is even the time of Jacob’s trouble; but he will be saved out of it.

Therefore my thighs are filled with anguish. Pains have seized me, like the pains of a woman in labor. I am in so much pain that I can’t hear. I so am dismayed that I can’t see.

Surely now they will say,“ We have no king; for we don’t fear Yahweh; and the king, what can he do for us?”

Where is your king now, that he may save you in all your cities? And your judges, of whom you said,‘ Give me a king and princes?’I have given you a king in my anger, and have taken him away in my wrath.

Inhabitant of Lebanon, who makes your nest in the cedars, how greatly to be pitied you will be when pangs come on you, the pain as of a woman in travail!

The king of Babylon has heard the news of them, and his hands become feeble: anguish has taken hold of him, pains as of a woman in labor.

How long will I see the standard and hear the sound of the trumpet?
