Writhe in agony, Daughter Zion, like a woman in labor, for now you must leave the city to camp in the open field. You will go to Babylon; there you will be rescued. There the Lord will redeem you out of the hand of your enemies.

People of Zion, groan with pain. Cry out like a woman having a baby. Soon you must leave your city. You must camp in the open fields. You will have to go to the land of Babylon. But that’s where the Lord will save you. There he will set you free from the power of your enemies.

Writhe and groan, O daughter of Zion, like a woman in labor, for now you shall go out from the city and dwell in the open country; you shall go to Babylon. There you shall be rescued; there the Lord will redeem you from the hand of your enemies.

Writhe and groan like a woman in labor, you people of Jerusalem, for now you must leave this city to live in the open country. You will soon be sent in exile to distant Babylon. But the Lord will rescue you there; he will redeem you from the grip of your enemies.

Be in pain, and labor to bring forth, O daughter of Zion, Like a woman in birth pangs. For now you shall go forth from the city, You shall dwell in the field, And to Babylon you shall go. There you shall be delivered; There the Lord will redeem you From the hand of your enemies.

Be in pain, and labor to bring forth, O daughter of Zion, like a woman in travail; for now shalt thou go forth out of the city, and shalt dwell in the field, and shalt come even unto Babylon: there shalt thou be rescued; there will Jehovah redeem thee from the hand of thine enemies.

爾所生諸子中、必有被虜、在巴比倫王宮為宦豎、

爾其出巴比倫地、避迦勒底人、謳歌宣揚、明示地極云、耶和華已贖其僕雅各、

贖爾之耶和華、以色列之聖者云、以爾之故、我將遣人至巴比倫、使逃亡之迦勒底人、乘其喜樂之舟而來、

耶路撒冷荒蕪之區、其歡聲同歌、蓋耶和華已慰藉其民、救贖耶路撒冷、耶和華於列邦顯其聖臂、地之四極、皆見我上帝之拯救焉、去之去之、出離斯土、勿捫污衊、爾攜耶和華之器者、當自潔焉、爾曹出時、不匆迫、非逃亡、蓋耶和華必導於爾前、以色列之上帝必護於爾後、○

我將誘掖之、導之於野、以善言慰之、

產婦之痛苦、必忽臨之、彼乃無知之子、其時已至、不宜濡滯子宮之間、

萬軍之耶和華曰、我依義興起古列、平直其途、彼必建我城邑、釋我俘囚、不望其值、不圖其賞、○

我誠語汝、爾將哭而哀、世將喜、爾將憂、然爾憂必易為樂也、婦臨產則憂、因其期至、既誕、不復憶其苦、喜有人生於世也、如是爾今有憂、然我復見爾、爾心將喜、且爾之喜、無人奪之、

有以大鷹之雙翼授婦、使飛入曠野、至其所、以避蛇、在彼就養、歷一載、二載、又半載、

故耶和華使亞述王之軍長來攻之、執瑪拿西、繫之以鏈、以鈎鈎之、攜至巴比倫、

於是穴城、戰士由附近王囿兩垣間之門夜遁、迦勒底人環城、王由亞拉巴道而走、

維彼錫安女、不坼副而分娩、未劬勞而生男、若此之事、孰聞之、孰見之、國豈能一日而成、民豈能一時而生、然錫安女方妊、遂產其子矣、耶和華曰、我既使坼副、豈不使之產乎、爾之上帝曰、我既使生育、豈閉其胚胎乎、

我必拯爾於惡者之手、贖爾於暴者之手、

咨、與巴比倫女偕居之錫安歟、爾其逃避、萬軍之耶和華有言、為彰其榮、遣我至虜爾之邦、犯爾者、即犯其眸子也、我將向之搖手、彼必為其廝役所虜、爾則知萬軍之耶和華遣我矣、

波斯王古列元年、耶和華使藉耶利米口所言得應、感波斯王古列之心、宣告通國、且書之曰、波斯王古列云、天上上帝耶和華、以天下萬國賜我、命我在猶大之耶路撒冷、為之建室、

以色列人數、將若海沙、不能量數、昔於何處謂之曰、爾非我民、後則於彼謂之曰、爾乃維生上帝之子、

我敵歟、勿因我而欣喜、我雖傾覆、必復興起、我坐於幽暗、耶和華為我之光、緣我獲罪於耶和華、必當其怒、迨其為我伸冤、為我行鞫、彼必導我入於光明、我必得見其義、我敵見之、必蒙羞恥、昔彼謂我曰、爾之上帝耶和華安在、彼必遭報、被踐若街衢之泥、為我目睹、建築牆垣之日、爾之地界廣拓、是日有人、自亞述與埃及諸邑、自埃及至大河、自此海至彼海、自此山至彼山、必皆歸爾、惟斯土必因居民行為之果報、而荒蕪焉、○

凡脫於刃者、皆虜至巴比倫、為己與子孫之奴婢、迨及波斯國興、

援之於憾者之手、贖之於敵人之手兮、
