But as for me, I am filled with power, with the Spirit of the Lord, and with justice and might, to declare to Jacob his transgression, to Israel his sin.

The Spirit of the Lord has filled me with power. He helps me do what is fair. He makes me brave. Now I’m prepared to tell Jacob’s people what they’ve done wrong. I’m ready to tell Israel they’ve sinned.

But as for me, I am filled with power, with the Spirit of the Lord, and with justice and might, to declare to Jacob his transgression and to Israel his sin.

“ Cry aloud, spare not; Lift up your voice like a trumpet; Tell My people their transgression, And the house of Jacob their sins.

And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,

“ Son of man, cause Jerusalem to know her abominations,

For behold, I have made you this day A fortified city and an iron pillar, And bronze walls against the whole land— Against the kings of Judah, Against its princes, Against its priests, And against the people of the land.

“ Son of man, describe the temple to the house of Israel, that they may be ashamed of their iniquities; and let them measure the pattern.

So the Spirit lifted me up and took me away, and I went in bitterness, in the heat of my spirit; but the hand of the Lord was strong upon me.

Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

For I am full of words; The spirit within me compels me.

“ You stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears! You always resist the Holy Spirit; as your fathers did, so do you.Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? And they killed those who foretold the coming of the Just One, of whom you now have become the betrayers and murderers,

Then I said,“ I will not make mention of Him, Nor speak anymore in His name.” But His word was in my heart like a burning fire Shut up in my bones; I was weary of holding it back, And I could not.

The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord.His delight is in the fear of the Lord, And He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes, Nor decide by the hearing of His ears;

Therefore thus says the Lord:“ If you return, Then I will bring you back; You shall stand before Me; If you take out the precious from the vile, You shall be as My mouth. Let them return to you, But you must not return to them.And I will make you to this people a fortified bronze wall; And they will fight against you, But they shall not prevail against you; For I am with you to save you And deliver you,” says the Lord.“ I will deliver you from the hand of the wicked, And I will redeem you from the grip of the terrible.”

for He taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.

Therefore I am full of the fury of the Lord. I am weary of holding it in.“ I will pour it out on the children outside, And on the assembly of young men together; For even the husband shall be taken with the wife, The aged with him who is full of days.

Will you judge them, son of man, will you judge them? Then make known to them the abominations of their fathers.

But Peter and John answered and said to them,“ Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, you judge.For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.”

James the son of Zebedee and John the brother of James, to whom He gave the name Boanerges, that is,“ Sons of Thunder”;

When Silas and Timothy had come from Macedonia, Paul was compelled by the Spirit, and testified to the Jews that Jesus is the Christ.But when they opposed him and blasphemed, he shook his garments and said to them,“ Your blood be upon your own heads; I am clean. From now on I will go to the Gentiles.”

Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them,“ Rulers of the people and elders of Israel:If we this day are judged for a good deed done to a helpless man, by what means he has been made well,let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands here before you whole.This is the‘ stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone.’Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

Now the Lord spoke to Paul in the night by a vision,“ Do not be afraid, but speak, and do not keep silent;for I am with you, and no one will attack you to hurt you; for I have many people in this city.”And he continued there a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them.

When they heard these things they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed at him with their teeth.But he, being full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God,and said,“ Look! I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!”Then they cried out with a loud voice, stopped their ears, and ran at him with one accord;

Then Saul, who also is called Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, looked intently at himand said,“ O full of all deceit and all fraud, you son of the devil, you enemy of all righteousness, will you not cease perverting the straight ways of the Lord?And now, indeed, the hand of the Lord is upon you, and you shall be blind, not seeing the sun for a time.” And immediately a dark mist fell on him, and he went around seeking someone to lead him by the hand.Then the proconsul believed, when he saw what had been done, being astonished at the teaching of the Lord.

But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said to them,“ Brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come?Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance,and do not think to say to yourselves,‘ We have Abraham as our father.’ For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones.And even now the ax is laid to the root of the trees. Therefore every tree which does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.His winnowing fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clean out His threshing floor, and gather His wheat into the barn; but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”

“ Now, son of man, will you judge, will you judge the bloody city? Yes, show her all her abominations!
