到那天，先知必因自己所讲的异象而羞愧，不再穿着毛皮衣欺骗人。

我使假先知的预兆无法应验，使占卜者丑态百出；我颠覆智者的知识，使之愚不可及。

“患麻风病的人必须撕裂衣服，披头散发，遮住脸的下半部，高喊‘不洁净！不洁净！’

就求问耶和华，但耶和华没有借着梦、乌陵或先知回答他。

那时，你们将像我的仆人一样不蒙脸，不吃丧家吃的饭。

主耶和华说：“日子将到，我要使饥荒降在地上。人饥饿非因无饼，干渴非因无水，而是因为听不到耶和华的话。

“你自幼就勤练符咒和五花八门的邪术，继续施展吧！也许会有用处，也许会令人害怕。众多的计谋使你疲惫不堪，让那些观天象、每月说预言的占星家来救你脱离将临的灾祸吧！“看啊，他们不过像枯草，必遭焚烧，无法救自己脱离烈焰。这火并非取暖的炭火，也不是人可以靠近的火。

你要默然哀叹，不可为死人办丧事，仍要缠着头巾，穿着鞋，不可蒙着脸，也不可吃丧家吃的饭。”

于是，扫罗求问上帝，说：“耶和华啊，我们可以去追杀非利士人吗？你会把他们交在以色列人手里吗？”但耶和华那日没有回答他。

从前在以色列，如果人们要求问上帝，他们会说：“让我们去找先见吧。”当时“先知”被称为“先见”。

列国看见这一切，都必因自己势力衰微而羞愧，都必用手捂口，耳朵变聋。

埃及的巫师无法与摩西对抗，因为他们及所有埃及人身上都长了脓疮。

现在这些人敌对真理，就像从前雅尼和佯庇反对摩西一样，他们的心思坏透了，他们的信仰是虚假的。不过，他们猖狂不了多久，因为他们的愚昧行径必暴露在众人面前，就像雅尼和佯庇的下场一样。

我们再也看不到你的征兆，先知也没有了。无人知道这一切何时才会结束。

撒母耳对扫罗说：“你为什么打扰我，招我上来呢？”扫罗答道：“我深陷困境，非利士人与我们交战，上帝也撇弃了我，不再借着先知或梦来回答我。因此，我只好招你上来，好告诉我该怎么办。”

巫师们也试图用邪术变出虱子来，却无法成功。埃及的百姓和牲畜身上长满了虱子。巫师们对法老说：“这是上帝的作为。”法老的心却仍然刚硬，不肯答应摩西和亚伦的要求，正如耶和华所言。

你们若不将梦告诉我，我必惩治你们。你们串通起来在我面前胡言乱语，期待情况会改变。现在将梦告诉我，我就相信你们能解梦。”占星家说：“王所要求的，世上无人能做到，因为再伟大、再有权势的君王也没问过术士、巫师或占星家这样的事。王问的事太难，除了不在人间居住的神明外，无人能为王解答。”
