yet you hate what is good, and love what is evil. You flay my people’s skin and rip the flesh from their bones.

you who hate good and love evil; who tear the skin from my people and the flesh from their bones;

But you hate what is good. And you love what is evil. You are like someone who tears the skin off my people. You pull the meat off their bones.

but you are the very ones who hate good and love evil. You skin my people alive and tear the flesh from their bones.

ye who hate the good, and love the evil; who pluck off their skin from off them, and their flesh from off their bones;

Her officials are like wolves in her midst rending their prey– shedding blood and destroying lives– so they can get dishonest profit.

Those who forsake the law praise the wicked, but those who keep the law contend with them.

All those who behave wickedly do not understand– those who devour my people as if they were eating bread, and do not call out to God.

Love must be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil, cling to what is good.

Why do you crush my people and grind the faces of the poor?” The sovereign LORD who commands armies has spoken.

the prophet Jehu son of Hanani confronted him; he said to King Jehoshaphat,“ Is it right to help the wicked and be an ally of those who oppose the LORD? Because you have done this the LORD is angry with you!

He despises a reprobate, but honors the LORD’s loyal followers. He makes firm commitments and does not renege on his promise.

So the king of Israel assembled about four hundred prophets and asked them,“ Should I attack Ramoth Gilead or not?” They said,“ Attack! The sovereign one will hand it over to the king.”But Jehoshaphat asked,“ Is there not a prophet of the LORD still here, that we may ask him?”The king of Israel answered Jehoshaphat,“ There is still one man through whom we can seek the LORD’s will. But I despise him because he does not prophesy prosperity for me, but disaster. His name is Micaiah son of Imlah. Jehoshaphat said,“ The king should not say such things.”

When Elijah arrived, Ahab said to him,“ So, you have found me, my enemy!” Elijah replied,“ I have found you, because you are committed to doing evil in the sight of the LORD.

The one who hates me hates my Father too.If I had not performed among them the miraculous deeds that no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin. But now they have seen the deeds and have hated both me and my Father.

Although they fully know God’s righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but also approve of those who practice them.

Listen to this, you who trample the needy, and do away with the destitute in the land.You say,“ When will the new moon festival be over, so we can sell grain? When will the Sabbath end, so we can open up the grain bins? We’re eager to sell less for a higher price, and to cheat the buyer with rigged scales!We’re eager to trade silver for the poor, a pair of sandals for the needy! We want to mix in some chaff with the grain!”

“ You stubborn people, with uncircumcised hearts and ears! You are always resisting the Holy Spirit, like your ancestors did!Which of the prophets did your ancestors not persecute? They killed those who foretold long ago the coming of the Righteous One, whose betrayers and murderers you have now become!

“ If the world hates you, be aware that it hated me first.If you belonged to the world, the world would love you as its own. However, because you do not belong to the world, but I chose you out of the world, for this reason the world hates you.

The LORD my God says this:“ Shepherd the flock set aside for slaughter.Those who buy them slaughter them and are not held guilty; those who sell them say,‘ Blessed be the LORD, for I am rich.’ Their own shepherds have no compassion for them.

Then they shouted back,“ Not this man, but Barabbas!”( Now Barabbas was a revolutionary.)

The world cannot hate you, but it hates me, because I am testifying about it that its deeds are evil.

O LORD, do I not hate those who hate you, and despise those who oppose you?I absolutely hate them, they have become my enemies!

unloving, irreconcilable, slanderers, without self- control, savage, opposed to what is good,

The Israelites hate anyone who arbitrates at the city gate; they despise anyone who speaks honestly.Therefore, because you make the poor pay taxes on their crops and exact a grain tax from them, you will not live in the houses you built with chiseled stone, nor will you drink the wine from the fine vineyards you planted.Certainly I am aware of your many rebellious acts and your numerous sins. You torment the innocent, you take bribes, and you deny justice to the needy at the city gate.For this reason whoever is smart keeps quiet in such a time, for it is an evil time.Seek good and not evil so you can live! Then the LORD, the God who commands armies, just might be with you, as you claim he is.

But his citizens hated him and sent a delegation after him, saying,‘ We do not want this man to be king over us!’

You eat the fat, you clothe yourselves with the wool, you slaughter the choice animals, but you do not feed the sheep!

Her princes are as fierce as roaring lions; her rulers are as hungry as wolves in the desert, who completely devour their prey by morning.
