But you are the ones who will be forced to leave! For this land is not secure! Sin will thoroughly destroy it!

爾行穢濁、污衊斯土、故不得安居、當往他方、遭禍不淺、

爾曹當起而往、此非爾安居之地、因污穢故、必翦滅爾、翦滅殆盡、

Get up, go away! For this is not your resting place, because it is defiled, it is ruined, beyond all remedy.

Get up! Leave this land! It is no longer your resting place. You have made it‘ unclean.’ You have completely destroyed it.

Arise and go, for this is no place to rest, because of uncleanness that destroys with a grievous destruction.

Up! Begone! This is no longer your land and home, for you have filled it with sin and ruined it completely.

Get up and leave, for this is not your place of rest because defilement brings destruction— a grievous destruction!

“ Arise and depart, For this is not your rest; Because it is defiled, it shall destroy, Yes, with utter destruction.

During Pekah’s reign over Israel, King Tiglath-pileser of Assyria came and captured Ijon, Abel Beth Maacah, Janoah, Kedesh, Hazor, Gilead, and Galilee, including all the territory of Naphtali. He deported the people to Assyria.

For the LORD says,“ I will now throw out those who live in this land. I will bring so much trouble on them that they will actually feel it.”

I invoke heaven and earth as witnesses against you today that you will surely and swiftly be removed from the very land you are about to cross the Jordan to possess. You will not last long there because you will surely be annihilated.

But in the same way every faithful promise the LORD your God made to you has been realized, it is just as certain, if you disobey, that the LORD will bring on you every judgment until he destroys you from this good land which the LORD your God gave you.If you violate the covenantal laws of the LORD your God which he commanded you to keep, and follow, worship, and bow down to other gods, the LORD will be very angry with you and you will disappear quickly from the good land which he gave to you.”

I declare to you this very day that you will certainly perish! You will not extend your time in the land you are crossing the Jordan to possess.

Therefore we must be wary that, while the promise of entering his rest remains open, none of you may seem to have come short of it.For we had good news proclaimed to us just as they did. But the message they heard did them no good, since they did not join in with those who heard it in faith.For we who have believed enter that rest, as he has said,“ As I swore in my anger,‘ They will never enter my rest!’” And yet God’s works were accomplished from the foundation of the world.For he has spoken somewhere about the seventh day in this way:“ And God rested on the seventh day from all his works,”but to repeat the text cited earlier:“ They will never enter my rest!”Therefore it remains for some to enter it, yet those to whom it was previously proclaimed did not enter because of disobedience.So God again ordains a certain day,“ Today,” speaking through David after so long a time, as in the words quoted before,“ O, that today you would listen as he speaks! Do not harden your hearts.”For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken afterward about another day.Consequently a Sabbath rest remains for the people of God.

then I will remove Israel from the land I have given them, I will abandon this temple I have consecrated with my presence, and Israel will be mocked and ridiculed among all the nations.

“‘ Do not defile yourselves with any of these things, for the nations which I am about to drive out before you have been defiled with all these things.Therefore the land has become unclean and I have brought the punishment for its iniquity upon it, so that the land has vomited out its inhabitants.You yourselves must obey my statutes and my regulations and must not do any of these abominations, both the native citizen and the resident foreigner in your midst,for the people who were in the land before you have done all these abominations, and the land has become unclean.So do not make the land vomit you out because you defile it just as it has vomited out the nations that were before you.

then I will remove you from my land I have given you, I will abandon this temple I have consecrated with my presence, and I will make you an object of mockery and ridicule among all the nations.

“‘ You must be sure to obey all my statutes and regulations, so that the land to which I am about to bring you to take up residence there does not vomit you out.You must not walk in the statutes of the nation which I am about to drive out before you, because they have done all these things and I am filled with disgust against them.So I have said to you: You yourselves will possess their land and I myself will give it to you for a possession, a land flowing with milk and honey. I am the LORD your God who has set you apart from the other peoples.Therefore you must distinguish between the clean animal and the unclean, and between the unclean bird and the clean, and you must not make yourselves detestable by means of an animal or bird or anything that creeps on the ground– creatures I have distinguished for you as unclean.You must be holy to me because I, the LORD, am holy, and I have set you apart from the other peoples to be mine.

For the sound of wailing is soon to be heard in Zion. They will wail,‘ We are utterly ruined! We are completely disgraced! For our houses have been torn down and we must leave our land.’”

I will lead people, my people Israel, across you; they will possess you and you will become their inheritance. No longer will you bereave them of their children.“‘ This is what the sovereign LORD says: Because they are saying to you,“ You are a devourer of men, and bereave your nation of children,”therefore you will no longer devour people and no longer bereave your nation of children, declares the sovereign LORD.

In the ninth year of Hoshea’s reign, the king of Assyria captured Samaria and deported the people of Israel to Assyria. He settled them in Halah, along the Habor( the river of Gozan), and in the cities of the Medes.

“ Look up at the hilltops and consider this. You have had sex with other gods on every one of them. You waited for those gods like a thief lying in wait in the desert. You defiled the land by your wicked prostitution to other gods.
