I will weep and mourn because Samaria will be destroyed. I’ll walk around barefoot and naked. I’ll bark like a wild dog. I’ll hoot like an owl.

先知说：因此我必大声哀号，赤脚露体而行；又要呼号如野狗，哀鸣如鸵鸟。

先知曰、我必哀哭、解衣去履、我必號呼、若暴獸野犬、

先知曰、緣此我必哀痛哭泣、必跣足裸體而行、必哀鳴若豺狼、豺狼或作野犬號呼若鴕鳥、

Because of this I will weep and wail; I will go about barefoot and naked. I will howl like a jackal and moan like an owl.

For this I will lament and wail; I will go stripped and naked; I will make lamentation like the jackals, and mourning like the ostriches.

Therefore, I will mourn and lament. I will walk around barefoot and naked. I will howl like a jackal and moan like an owl.

Therefore I will wail and howl, I will go stripped and naked; I will make a wailing like the jackals And a mourning like the ostriches,

For this will I lament and wail; I will go stripped and naked; I will make a wailing like the jackals, and a lamentation like the ostriches.

Because of this I will lament and wail; I will walk barefoot and naked. I will howl like the jackals and mourn like ostriches.

Therefore I will wail and howl, I will go stripped and naked: I will make a wailing like the dragons, and mourning as the owls.

For this reason I will mourn and wail; I will walk around barefoot and without my outer garments. I will howl like a wild dog, and screech like an owl.

For this I will lament and wail; I will go stripped and naked; I will howl like the jackals, and moan like the daughters of owls.

So I said,“ Leave me alone. Let me weep bitter tears. Don’t try to comfort me. My people have been destroyed.”

Three years earlier the Lord had spoken to Isaiah, the son of Amoz. The Lord had said,“ Take off the rough clothing you are wearing. And take off your sandals.” So Isaiah did. He went around barefoot and naked.After Ashdod was captured, the Lord said,“ My servant Isaiah has gone around barefoot and naked for three years. He is a sign and reminder to Egypt and Cush about what will happen to them.The king of Assyria will lead prisoners away from Egypt and Cush. Young people and old people alike will be taken away. Like Isaiah, they will be barefoot and naked. Their backsides will be bare. So the Egyptians will be put to shame.

I’ve become a brother to wild dogs. Owls are my companions.

People are heard weeping in Zion. They are saying,“ We are destroyed! We are filled with shame! We must leave our land. Our houses have been torn down.”

I wish my head were a spring of water! I wish my eyes were a fountain of tears! I would weep day and night for my people who have been killed.

I’m suffering! I’m really suffering! I’m hurting badly. My heart is suffering so much! It’s pounding inside me. I can’t keep silent. I’ve heard the sound of trumpets. I’ve heard the battle cry.

The vision fills my body with pain. Pains take hold of me. They are like the pains of a woman having a baby. I am shaken by what I hear. I’m terrified by what I see.

Jazer weeps for the vines of Sibmah. And so do I. Heshbon and Elealeh, I soak you with my tears! There isn’t any ripe fruit for people to shout about. There isn’t any harvest to make them happy.

I will cry and mourn over the mountains. I will sing a song of sadness about the desert grasslands. They are dry and empty. No one travels through them. The mooing of cattle isn’t heard there. The birds have flown away. All the animals are gone.

But desert creatures will lie down there. Wild dogs will fill its houses. Owls will live there. Wild goats will jump around in it.

“ Like a flute my heart sings a song of sadness for Moab. It sings like a flute for the people of Kir Hareseth. The wealth they had acquired is gone.Every head is shaved. Every beard is cut off. Every hand is cut. And every waist is covered with the clothes of sadness.Weeping is the only sound in Moab. It is heard on all its roofs. It is heard in the market. I have broken Moab like a jar that no one wants,” announces the Lord.“ How broken Moab is! How the people weep! They turn away from others because they are so ashamed. All those around them laugh at them. They are shocked at them.”

I’m like a desert owl. I’m like an owl among destroyed buildings.
